When the hell is armanti starting

not sure how long you've been around, but the williams nuthuggers were acting the same way these armanti fans are long before he accomplished anything in the league...it started almost the moment he was drafted.

the site was littered with threads just like these.

Yeah I remember that-I've been reading this site since 2005 and a poster since like mid 2006. They were ultimately vindicated in their nutswinging because Williams turned into a very legit starting NFL RB. At any rate he showed a heck of a lot more in his rookie season than Armanti Edwards has/likely will. He was a big play threat even in 06 and had two solid seasons in relief of Foster even behind what was actually a pretty crappy line. I mean I know the allegory here re: WR play is that our QB play is pretty much poo and our coaching is questionable but really, looking at our depth chart, do you think Edwards is going to straight up beat LaFell and Gettis?

Armanti could help us tremendously. Anti-Edwards haters are clueless.

Late first round pick.

Again, I'm an "Armanti for starter" kind of guy, but you have to assume he is not on the field for a reason. The 1-10 start might make you assume that Fox and the others really don't get it, but they see him everyday and there must be a reason he is not playing---- and it is highly unlikely its because they are just that dumb or that they just don't recognize his talent like we fans do. It's also not because he is from a lower division (as proven by Flacco and Adrian Peterson, etc.), it's probably because his isn't up to speed. And once again, be careful what you ask for--- some time at QB or WR with the Panthers' sub-par offense might just make him look like a boob. Maybe next year or maybe another team, etc.

no...not with clausen under center.

a rookie qb's best friend is a big target.

i believe that's why clausen avoids smith.

I'm not a App Homer, or an Armanti-ite, BUT being that he was the emergency QB Sunday, and his position in college was QB, and being that we don't have a professional starting QB on our roster as evident by all of their performances this year (outside of maybe Pike)...

IT IS TIME TO START HIM. Fox may as well do it, what does he have to lose? His job? MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!

    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix had only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
