The Lions already have a QB, so basically it's just down to the Bungles and the Bills, who seem happy with Fitzpatrick (and they might be too cheap to go after Luck).

If we actually won another game and the Lions get the first pick, they would trade it to the highest bidder. :yesnod:

Luck would still go first

strength of schedule.

whoever has the easiest schedule gets the pick.

By the end of it, that may be them because our division is winning crazy time.

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I'm going to guess that theirs will end up being stronger than ours. Reason being that they also play the NFC South and play the AFC East which has 2 of the 3 teams with the best record in the league and one other team above .500 while we play the NFC West who has all four teams below .500.

That is good to hear. thanks for looking that up.

what does a great draft look like to you

a great draft to me has a number of players starting on the team, others backing up, and one or two really being stars on the team.

i don't require first/second round draft choices be those stars, which may be why I am different from others.

Great may have been too strong a word, but I stand by the fact we've drafted well in recent years. This is a team built to last and I think that the fact Hurney didn't trade next year's first is good progress for him. ;)

    • https://www.profootballnetwork.com/patriots-trade-deadline-rumors-5-deals-before-nov-4/ Move 3: Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers Trade Details: > Patriots receive: Chuba Hubbard and 2026 seventh-round pick > Panthers receive: 2026 fourth-round pick New England needs more from their backfield. Rhamondre Stevenson has struggled throughout the season, and while TreVeyon Henderson has flashed, he has not yet earned the trust to be a consistent focal point, lacking proper snaps for a lead back. The Patriots have had to lean on Maye’s arm more heavily than ideal, and adding a runner capable of producing efficient yardage would give the offense better balance.
    • There aren't 32 legitimate starting caliber QBs in the league. Just like when we were starting Bell and Chandler at OT, did that make them legit "starters"? I mean, technically I guess it did since they were indeed starting but they sure as hell weren't starting caliber players. If you have the 30th best starting QB in the league, you desperately need a starting QB and there's likely backups on other rosters better than your starter just like there were better backup OTs on other rosters than Bell and Chandler.
    • Name a QB as bad as Bryce who had their 5th picked up?  You certainly can name better ones who didn't have it picked up.
