I see a possible two...

the 2nd game against ATL is in atlanta. they'll be loud, esp. if they think they are superbowl bound.

also, as close as the standings are, atlanta may be fighting for home field advantage in the NFCCG so resting their starters might not be a good idea. much of their success comes from being in a protected environment and they will want to take advantage of that as much as possible.

Atlanta may need to beat Carolina just to stay ahead of New Orleans in the Division win column.

THe New Orleans vs. Atlanta game in Atlanta will be huge. It will wrap up the division for ATL. If you seek a Panther loss, hope they are playing for home field advantage in the playoffs.

However, the Saints play the Ravens in Baltimore the week before and could lose that one.

If you think the Bears are going to compete with the Falcons for home field advantage, think again. They play New England, Minnesota, @ Green Bay, and someone else (cant remember).

If The Falcons lose to New Orleans, even if New Orleans loses to Baltimore, they have to beat the Panthers to wrap up the division and home field. So, if you want the Panthers to play the ATL starters, you need to root for NO to beat the Ravens next week and the Falcons the week after. Both on the road, both tall orders. (I think they play the rams this week- not a gimme)

I think ATL is good but not great and can be beat. Matt Ryan is always an INT ready to happen. I think the chances are at least pretty good for a victory on Sunday. Yes I am a Saints fan first and really need you guys to beat the hated Falcons. As down as you guys are I get no satisfaction bashing you while down so those days are over at this point. Just somehow I need you guys to rally and beath the damn Falcons.

FYI Brees 25TD's 16INTs

I know but he has a horseshoe hanging out of his butt. I have seen them play alot this year and I swear he throws up some balls that should be picks. Why teams aren't making his pay I simply don't know. As for Brees...yeah he has thrown a few too many this year. Back to the point though. You guys can beat ATL. Are they pretty good? Yeah they are but they aren't a great team.

Yea we could have beat the Saints too, they aren't a great team either.

Saints 16 Panthers 14, how did you guys only post 16 on us?

There really aren't any dominate / great teams in the league right now. NE looks to have it going again based on the other night against the Jets. Philly might be as close as it gets in the NFC. I just don't see ATL being much more than just good and lucky. But we have been lucky as well. I will worry about being great another day. Right now I just want you guys to beat ATL.

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
