In order to regain some success in the coming seasons...

...we need to basically hire a coach that is out of the norm for Richardson's past hires...

We need someone that isn't afraid to take control of a press conference... We need a coach that isn't going to tolerate crappy performances and play favorites with more experienced players...

Think about it... Dom Capers, George Siefert, and John Fox... Basically all carry the personality of field mouse, in that they are quiet, reserved, and offer nothing of real insight and drive as far as motivation goes... Sure, Foxy showed some promise early on, but it fizzled out about the same time as Jake Delhomme did...

If it isn't obvious to anyone at this point that clapping your hands and chewing some gum while basically not lighting a fire under anyone's ass is counterproductive, then you need to find something else to do on Sundays...

I don't know who our next coach will be, but I hope it is someone that will yell when he has to, grab a facemask or two to get some attention and respect... bust some heads, while at the same time making players want to win, and make the most of their talents... no matter how little they have...

I don't care if he cusses like a sailor or gets irate at press conferences over stupid questions, I just want someone to light the fire... Sure, players can do that on their own from time to time, but they can also only try so much and, if they don't get any support from the higher-ups in an organization, then what is the motivation?

Richardson needs to bring in someone that has a fan's desire and passion for the organization, and a professional's ability to lead and make decisions without fear of failure... Again, I don't know who it will be, but I do know that that is exactly what our front office needs...

Agree to hire me as a general assistant and I'll campaign for you ;)

That said more than an in your face type I want someone who will construct as good a staff as humanly possible to develop our young team.

A Tony Dungy type or a Cowher type doesn't matter to me, it's about the result they get with their method instead of the method itself.

I think your assesment is way off. Just because he keeps the media in the dark doesn't mean he's that reserved with the players. I think he does a bad job of keeping the players consistently motivated due to the lack of back to back winning seasons, not because of his demeanor with the press. That's an awful gauge of someone's coaching performance.

I had a small convo one time with the guy that worked the headsets and he said Fox is a maniac like most coaches.

I understand where you're coming from but I just want something new in this organization. It doesn't have to be someone that loves attention. I want someone that will put a fire under the organization, that will start rookies or young guys if they're better then a 5 years starter. Fresh air is what the franchise needs and I think that Richardson will keep his word in that he will spend the money to make this a winning organization again.

    • Yards a game works better over a longer period of time as well. Averages always work out over the long run. The smaller the sample size the easier it is to skew. Also opponents matter more when the size is small. Player 1 lights up 2 bad defenses in 4 starts vs Player 2 playing 10 games vs multiple defenses. It hard to make it apples to apples how it currently sits. Remember during Bryce’s little run last year how annoyed you were when people were pulling Bryce’s starts from week 9 on vs the whole season.
    • Someone else claimed I said EVERY.  Literally in my post breaking it down it gave Bryce TDs per game.   Shough however has the majority in his favor if just looking at starts. whats subjective about comp %, yards, QB ratings and turnovers?  Now I guess the argument one might make off them could be subjective.  But all I’m saying is statistically as a starter he has been better this year overall.  I don’t think Shough is great.  I think he is impressive based on the situation.  2nd rounder stepping in on a bad team.   And he like so many other QBs…..serves as little red flag going off about what we are doing here offensively.
    • Player A - 2 starts.  200 yards in each start. He averages 200 yards a game.  Player B - 1 start.  Throws for 400 yards.  Comes in another random game and has 1 pass attempt on a Hail Mary to end the game that goes incomplete.   Now given the random game he appeared for a snap, he averages 200 yards a game. Thats why you isolate starts. If you are talking starter vs someone who began as a backup.  Simple made up numbers/situations to illustrate the point.
