Whats Peppers Worth realistically?

If he were in this season's draft, where would he be selected?

I think the two first round selections that are normally applied to tagged players is fair. I'm hoping for San Deigo.[/quote

SD has too many holes to give up 1st's and AJ Smith loves the draft. Not to mention they have to sign V. Jackson, S. Merriman, and Rivers.

Pep may want to play there but they can't afford him.

Honestly if Pep were in this draft he would go right where he was selected in 2002...top 1 or 2 picks. The guy is still a freak and IMO outside of Mario Williams he is the best DE in the league. The only reason he is not #1 to me is because he is 29 years old.

It sucks that most of the teams that will probably be interested in him are in the NFC but I would take anyones pick in the top 18 as well as a 3rd or 4th rounder. He is worth at least one first round pick and anyone that says differently is stupid. I guarantee he will have at least 15-16 sacks next year for whoever trades for him and that is a lot more than the likes of Brian Orakpo, Everrette Brown, or Michael Johnson..

the demand is going to be pretty high for peppers. a lot of teams are licking their chops and a lot of GMs are trying to figure out how to get him.

we should be able to get at least one 1st round for him.

2 isn't unreasonable. a first and a second is most likely.

the best thing is it won't take any work on our part to trade him. all the panthers need to do is slap the non-exclusive tag on him and wait for peppers and his agent to work something out. panthers just have to say yes or no to the deal.

Some here will say a 5th round pick at best others will say two 1st round picks.

The realistic worth of Peppers is one 1st round pick and a 3rd and another pick this is based upon the precedent set by the KC trade of Jared Allen to the Vikings last year so the trade will be somewhere around there at least, the actual picks will be based upon where the picks actually are, for example a early 2nd and a early 3rd is better then a late 1st and a late 3rd, if you get what I'm saying.

Trade him for the deciding role in the NFC South's cheerleader selection. Then make the Bucs, Falcons, and Saints' cheerleaders ugly bearded men. their fan bases will be demoralized, the players will lose heart, they'll lose or tie all their games and the panthers will be gaurunteed at least 6-10 in 2009.

I'm guessing we'll get a first and a third.

the thing that may make peppers more valuable to a team is the star power that peppers has. even though he may hate it, he draws a lot of attention and a lot of fans.

the increase in ticket and jersey sales may make some team want him a bit more.

for a small market team wanting to get more attention (KC type) or a large market team that thrives on getting "hot" players (dallas type) he will be in high demand.

    • I don’t think we would spend that kind of money on a LB that can’t play all 3 downs. It said he played 331 coverage snaps last year and only gave up one TD so him not being a coverage LB seems kinda like BS?
    • Moton should be back in 27 just due to the guarantees. I can't see us cutting him and eating that cap hit. Trade might be a bit different, but how many teams trade for 20m tackles?  I wouldn't be surprised to see us take 2 this year, 1 in the first and one in the 4th that has potential to play inside if they don't develop as quickly. Our line is awfully thin atm with the unknown injury Hunt got during the postseason. Even if Hunt's ok, we still lack depth. I could see is walking away from this draft with 2 tackles and a center, especially if we move down to pick up an extra 3rd or 4th.
    • He was so up and down for 4 seasons. They declined his 5 year option for a reason  Oloukon has been their LB1.  Evero loves to send pressure so my guess is if Lloyd is going to be used a 3 down back here he’ll be blitzing on 3rd down a lot. Would’ve liked to have signed someone a lot quicker if that’s the case. Lloyd isn’t very explosive. Used to be
