Players comment on Fox's most disappointing season

When asked if this has been his most disappointing season ever, coach John Fox said. "Yeah, considering it took until this point to be double digit losses I would say that is a fair assessment.” Fox has never had a double-digit loss season in previous 20 years as an NFL assistant or head coach.

DE Charles Johnson on John Fox: "He's a good guy, man. He's the type of coach that you want to follow. Fox, you learn so much from him, just being around him and how he coaches. He treats you like a man, he respects you and he respects his players."

John Fox on how this year's 1-12 record affects his legacy as Panthers coach: “I think the staff, the players here and myself included I think we’ve done absolutely the best job we could possibly do. I will be able to look myself in the mirror when I walk away from here.”

More from TE Jeff King on John Fox: "All of us here in this locker room, it would serve us right to play hard for him because he has a good reputation and his word goes a long way around the league. As a person and a player that has been here five years, I love playing for him. I will continue to play hard for him because he deserves that.”

TE Jeff King on John Fox's legacy: "I have a tremendous amount of respect for him. Three more games or however long we are together, I’m going to fight my ass off for him. He’s that kind of coach. He’s always in his player’s corner, and that is all you can ask for.”

I still think he will be a HC again, likely soon...

Whats a player supposed to say? "Yeah, he really phoned it in this year". Yeah, smart, burn your bridges with a soon to be head coach of another team when you may be a free agent yourself soon.

Doesn't get much fluffier than this piece.

I actually think they genuinely like the guy, but okay.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
