Joe Webb is better than Jimmy Clausen.

Awesomeness!!

ahh ffs, Webb is like a half foot taller and weighs 40 lbs more. He's actually got a fairly typical pro QB build. =|

I understand the size difference, and noticed it myself while watching the kid play tonight. All I'm saying is it would not hurt to give Edwards a shot in the last game of the season. Or has Clausen shown you guys something that I haven't seen?

Clausen's a few inches taller than Edwards, and yet he has passes batted down with regularity and is not a threat to run in any direction except backwards.

Edwards would be crushed by a DE, I'd rather see him get reps as WR.

i dont know about joe webb being better than pickles but the play calling by the vikings last night was worlds better than anything carolina does.....they played to webb's strengths they kept him short in the count and never asked him to go out and make a play he did all of that on his own....but that running semi running QB is hell on defenses

Playcalling looked better because Webb could escape defenders instead of taking sacks, took chances downfield and threw with pretty good accuracy. All things Clausen hasn't done. Otherwise our offense looks more dynamic as well. I am not saying it is clausen's fault but poor execution can make your playcalling look good or bad.

Joe Webb would get killed in our offense.

Our offense can be dynamic if the quarterback can make the throws and read the defenses. Honestly Webb's performance makes you wonder what Edwards could have done with this offense given Webb and Edwards came from similar systems in college.

    • Wow I can’t believe the panthers tried to trade up, failed, but still got the guy they wanted to trade up for. I wonder if anyone else has ever said that next you’ll tell me they had Hunter and Brazzell graded as first rounders.
    • I don’t think people are saying that picking up the option is a call for the pitchforks. We would have had to do things differently a couple of years back to make declining the option a valid move. We didn’t and here we are. People largely accept that. The pattern it adheres to, reinforces the nausea we feel when the idea of an extension, and at top of the market no less, comes up.  One that he hasn’t shown he deserves.   Same as he did not deserve to be drafted 1.1. Look at Pavia and what really is the difference? Bryce is a nice guy and Pavia is an asshole lol. They are both no margin for error non day one talents. One went undrafted.  Probably should have been drafted day three anyway. The other was way over drafted.
    • We hate losing. I don't know Bryce to hate him. His play as a QB, I absolutely hate. It's just not good enough. If there were a lottery held to select the order and all 32 starting QBs could be drafted as the starting QB for whatever team selected them, how long do you think it would be before Bryce's name was called? Top 10, top 20, bottom 8? Think about it.  For me, having never seen back to back games with franchise QB level performance in 3 years tells me what I need to know. We still need to be looking for our solution at QB.
