Is White is the new Black?

Awesomeness!!

While "arguing" with KT the other day he brought up the "fact" that we had never given a black QB a shot (Rodney Pete wasn't black I guess) Of course, his favorite NFL team is racist.......but they're are still his favorite NFL team lol. Anyway,I reminded him that there are more black coaches than QBs, and if I was a black nationalist, I would be more concerned with that, since Coaches have more power over the team than QBs. Then I asked him why the Panthers had never taken a shot at a white RB? No answer of course.

Anyway it made me think of all of the white RBs and WRs in the league this year, like Peyton Hillis, John Kuhn (oh the irony) Danny Woohead, everybody that plays for the Colts etc. Is this just a new fad, or is it a trend thats here to stay? If so, white is the new black!

Black quarterbacks, Hispanic quarterbacks, White runningbacks/receivers/cornerbacks, Asian anything...

Can't say I care about anything other than how well they play their position.

Heck, there was a time when more than half the kickers were from Bulgaria or somewhere.

Paint 'em all up like the aliens in Avatar and then no one will know who's what.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
