I personally liked the press conference

The big cat came out and was very honest. He controlled the room, which reminded me of the reports of him taking control of the room at the labor talks. He did not divulge any groundbreaking news but nor should he have.

I also liked how he admitted that he is running a business but at the same time being a former player that he desires to win more than any other owner.

I felt like he gave a reasonable explanation for last years moves, including indicating Fox being to loyal to vets. I enjoyed hearing how he inferred that he'd like a coach willing to make adjustments when things aren't going right. On the labor agreement it was not the news I was looking for but at least he was brutally honest about it.

Not so sure the Panthers liked it.

Two hours later and the video is still "coming soon" on the team website.

Draft day videos are normally up pretty quick.

Could just be different staff (I think Mason used to handle all that) but it makes me wonder if they're not trying to edit some stuff out.

That was my first thought when JR started talking...."this will be edited down or not posted on the site at all"

They probably want to take out all those scenes of him being dominated by that tricky adjustable microphone.

Well, JR saying the "negotiations aren't going well" is at odds with poo Goodell has been saying for a couple days now about the CBA.

I'm thinking this is a PR nightmare for the NFL, and the Panthers' front office is getting bombarded with calls from the NFL Home Office (yes, supposedly Goodell has come out and said "we don't discount anything JR said", but that's BS).

Actually in the article posted by yas he says richardson had told goodell he was going to say that and he was fine with it.

Yeah, I read that too.

But think about it... if JR wants to say something about owner's negotiations... who's Goodell to stop him? What's he gonna do, fine him?

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
