ESPN does not want Luck in Carolina

I am getting a little sick of ESPN covering every possible scenario involving the #1 pick except Luck going to Carolina.

First, last night, the announcers kept making comments that he should return to school. Did not mention the Cats once.

Then today, Mortenson suggested that Carolina will stick with second round pick Clausen and trade the pick-- it will create a bidding war like no other.

Then they discussed that Denver will pull a Manning/Elway to get him by hiring Harbaugh.

Are they suggesting a Lebraun-type conspiracy? A plan to extort a player by creating a behind-the-scenes network designed to beat the system? The fact that they thought this and said it out loud on National TV is cheap and shows what slimeballs and scum ESPN hires. Why not cover the most probable scenario, which is Luck going to Carolina because the Panthers have a need at QB? Shallow sleeze balls. Just want to plant seeds and corrupt the sport that they feed on. If ESPN was ethical at all, they would fire these scuzzy bastards. Pricks.

It's because we most likely won't have the personnel to challenge Luck to be the greatest. Harbaugh is one of those guys that can do so, yet all sources keep saying Carolina isn't interested in Harbaugh. Plus, we are a small market team. What is there to get excited about in Carolina? (This is their thinking.)

actually ESPN does want andrew luck in Carolina because it would create an outlet through which it could reach an up until that point apathetic fan base.

NFL interest in down in the Carolinas and ESPN loses ad revenue through television and radio advertising.

Bringing in Luck would increase it.

there is no reason for them to want luck to land in an already large, established market.

    • Got to give some credit to the coaching staff on these. You can grab top talents but without good coaching, they just fizzle out. We've seen that a lot around here.
    • Oh, no TV for tonight's game unless you have the NHL Network, I believe. I could be wrong, hopefully?
    • Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.    I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should. Nearly sold on Scourton. Not sold on Princely but he had flashes. Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position. Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.  Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad. Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.   UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find
