PFT Article on our Situation

First, this isn't ranting about how Luck screwed us. Its ranting about how little the national media knows about us. This piece of the article really pissed me off:

That trade illustrates the way good teams like the Patriots use the draft to stay good, and bad teams like the Panthers use the draft to stay bad.

This is our worst season in nearly 10 years. You can't say we were a bad team in those years between 2001 and 2010. At worst, we were grossly mediocre.

Also, during that time, we made some poor draft choices in the later rounds. But, this article makes it sound like we're the Cleveland Browns or the Oakland Raiders when it comes to the draft as a hole which is far from the truth. Each year we pull at likes 3-4 solid starters or contributers out of our draft classes.

This kind of BS really grinds my gears.

Traded a future #1 for Everette Brown

Traded a future #1 for Jeff Otah

Traded the 33rd overall pick to pick up Armanti Edwards at #89 overall

Now, why would any national media get the sense that we have made bad decisions on draft day?

I'm sick of Hurney talking about how much "fun" it is to be making deals.

Wish I could fug up my main job function repeatedly, call it "fun" and keep doing the same job.

Who the hell cares. We're A. not a big market and B. not a recent Super Bowl winner/perennial playoff contender. Where's the meat? The big FA signings, the blockbuster trades, the drama, the owner/coach who runs his mouth to the press more than once every decade, the other bullshit? Why should the poo slinging howler monkeys at PFT give a damn about us?

Their readership thinks we're the Cleveland Browns or Oakland Raiders already because your average NFL fan looks at overall record and maybe strength of schedule on a good day when evaluating a mid level team like us. Whether PFT implies that or not makes no difference at all in the end.
