I think Rivera met with some of the players who happened to be in the building when he was there, wouldn't read much into this.

He might have met with players that were currently available. Steve Smith might be out of town, out of country, going to disney land, etc...

I would hope that he makes it a point to call all of them though.

No, all he said was he had time to stop and talk with a few players. He never said anything about anyone coming in to see him or anything like that, I am sure it was just guys that were doing work there.

Smitty is a captain of this team and probably the most frustrated guy in the locker room for a number of reasons. If Rivera was going to round up some guys for a sounding board why wouldnt smitty be in on the action?

The answer could be as simple as smitty was out of town and couldnt make it. Or, it could be a little more sinister and give us a glimpse into the direction this relationship may be heading; i.e. not caring too much about what smitty thinks, take it or leave it.

I would think a new coach would want to get all the big hitters in his corner if he is going to talk with players before a presser.

When he moves his stuff from Cali that would probably be a good time. The answer is as simple as you stated. The players are gone not all of them hang around the stadium. Right now Rivera is rounding up a coaching staff and talking to the franchise braintrust which is more important than players.

So nobody knows who he actually met with or not? We know that Jimmy is in CA. LaFell was in Louisiana. Stewart either in WA or AZ. Lloyd in FL. I think Beason is in MIA. Sutton and Goodson are in Charlotte.
