In 2009: Panthers the 4th most dangerous team...

I saw that on ESPN first take while i was eating breakfast this morning, the sound was off so i had to just gather what i could

We were the 3rd most dangerous team after the steelers for 2009, I was actually really suprised that they were giving us that much credit, I would have thought they would have picked the falcons over us as they seem much more trendy

I was also a little pissed that they gave the cardinals 0 credit, that's messed up

Above us were the patriots, giants, and steelers

I think that is an accurate rating of where we are right now, if Fox and Co. will address the D-line this year like they addressed the running game last year i think we will be as elite as anybody

The Patriots are going to be the most pissed off team in the league. Brady will probably come back with a vengeance and the rest of the team will be pissed about missing the playoffs.

We have a very tough schedule, I don't see us winning unless the defense gets it together and Jake plays better.

Pats, Steelers, Chargers, and Colts will all be pretty damn scary next year in the AFC.

The NFC is much harder to figure out. There is a logjam at the top, and to me there is not elite team that is head and shoulders above the rest.

Panthers

Giants

Philly

AZ

And then this group of surprisers...they could pop up and be very good.

Cowboys?????

GB

Saints

Atlanta

Seahawks

Minny

Way to early to tell.

Why wouldn't we be? Granted we are going to lose peppers but besides Jakes meltdown it should have been us in the superbowl. We went 12-4 we should be a threat next year.

Jakes meltdown, the D giving up, us not having a viable way to stop a great Pass O.

There are plenty of questions, and I suspect that we will be good, but we won't have the same chance this up coming year.

Again,

Healthy, first round bye, home field.

P.S. We still would have had to beat the Ealges.....

Wonder how dangerous a team we were predicted to be in 2004? And in 2006?

;)

In reality, I think we will win the South next year with a 9-7 record, and will be the only team from our division in the playoffs. We play a brutal schedule next year, but it will make us stronger when playoff time comes.

At least that's what the homer in me keeps saying.

    • Dugger would cost $23.5 million in dead money if they cut him. Sounds like a trade is the only option. I'm more concerned about LB at this point.
    • I am not the one pitching a fit, frank. Again, I don't agree with this notion that Dalton is some washed up scrub. He is one of the better backup QB's in the NFL. Despite that....he isn't gonna walk in there and start rattling off wins. Jesus....what backup QB in the NFL right now is?? We. Stink.  A competent backup exists to not immediately sink the ship if he has to play for a few games. Dalton is capable of that. Losing games slightly better or worse than Bryce.  If you want competition for Bryce, WTF are you bitching at all of us for? You think we are David Tepper, Dan Morgan, etc? I don't have any control over the ignorant poo they do.  Sure, it would be great to have invested some resources in a young QB but you also have to be realistic about this roster. It still sucks. We have holes in every possible direction, our depth is a fuging joke and our starters are about as bad. It's genuinely a luxury to be taking a young QB anywhere either than day 3, especially with how weak some of the recent QB drafts have been. And we all know that those day 3 QB's are probably less likely to pan out that some special teams caliber OL/DL/DB/etc.  I don't blame them for not spamming pick after pick at QB because they already have a massive investment in Bryce. That's the fuging business part of the NFL, like it or not. If it doesn't pan out this year, I fully expect a pivot and given track record, I am quite sure it will fail spectacularly as it has almost a dozen fuging times since Cam's arm got nuked.  Welcome to Panthers Nation, buddy.
    • I really hope we keep all 4 + 7 WRs. I like Blackshear, but Etienne has shown that he's more than capable as a returner and RB3. Idk if he's still PS eligible, but that'd be a dub if he could still be stashed.
