ya but sam mills does the other side of the ball if im not mistaken

True but one would think the jobs would be the same. I mean its a vague title so it could mean just about anything but thats all I have to go with.

dug this up

Often, a quality control coach is new to the coaching business. They do not coach a specific position but have several other responsibilities. Among those duties are breaking down film of upcoming opponents, scouting those opponents, and acting as an assistant during practices.

assisting in all aspects of the Beavers

and that is when I got lost.....short attention span and all.

....but more seriously. Don't a lot of the QC jobs go to people with relationships in the business, but very little experience? It's a jumping off spot.

Mills 3 is a good example. I think Sparano just hired his own son down in Miami as well for one of these spots.

Maybe it had way more to do with the Rivera/ Turner relationship that the Moore/Turner relationship... but that is just me being logical...

I seriously doubt the decision to hire him had anything whatsoever to do with Matt Moore.

Could the hire have an effect on the decision as to whether or not to give Moore another shot, though?

That, to me, is the more interesting question.

LOL. People think this hiring means we're signing Moore and he'll start? Wow.

Excuse me while I go jump in front of speeding traffic to avoid the stupidity in here. It's less dangerous for me.

Suggesting that he'd start is a stretch.

Getting a chance to come to training camp and compete though? Not that big a reach.

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
