I bet a CBA gets hammered out sooner than later now.

these two decisions are likely to lend support to the owners.

now we'll see who really controls the players union: the few players who make a ton of money and don't want to lose any of it, or the players who either just want to play or need to play because they aren't in that top pay bracket.

Yep and that BS collusion case is gonna get tossed as well. Smith better realize real damn quick the Goverment and the courts aren't going to help them.

I don't think the govt will either. However, it is worth noting, that they have in the past. The federal courts ruled for decertification in the 90s. Also, the recent case brought against the NFL by the jersey maker? opens up loophole (NFL=32 seperate corporations) for the union to take advantage of.

Doesn't that assume that there is a lockout? What if the owners give them their best offer and make the player's strike. They they couldn't decertify right? Every player would be making their own decision to strike if they dissolved the union. They would have to keep things intact.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
