Should Panthers go after Plaxico Burress??

As most of us know Plaxico spent 2 years in Jail for pretty much shotting himself in the leg with his own gun in public. But besides that Burress has not been in to much off the field trouble and he was playing good ball with the Giants before going to Jail. According to his Agent Twitter he is Strong and ready to come back to play NFL football. Been out for 2 years and not NFL ready and Age factor. Should the panthers take a stab at him in the Summer to get Vet leadership and get some help for smith?? I feel he would be good for a slot receiver postion to help out some and help the young WR out and learn how to run routes better. Your thoughts!! I know it a long shot. But wouldn't hurt. Look at Vick. After 2 years back in the NFL he is starting QB and is playing once again and he did much worse stuff then Burress did.

People you've got to love the gun law's in NY, they put the man that caught the winning TD in the superbowl in prison for 2 year's for shooting himself in the leg. All that could have been avoided by wearing a good holster. Or did they lock him up just cause he had a gun, who know's. Anyway, no, don't need Plax.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
