heh yea shame we'd never make an

effort to go after him.

he has multiple DUI's and is one screw up away from being suspended for an entire season. plus he held out nearly an entire season and may have cost Chargers a playoff run.

not exactly a team player if you ask me. phenomenal receiver but he has a lot of baggage.

Did not know this. I'd trust Rivera's judgment since he does have experience with him although I don't think he will be adding any WR but just add a receiving TE. As far as players holding out, they do it a lot to get away form the team, hell Palmer threatened to retire. I think VJ wanted out bad might not remember that right. I like the list of FA wrs but I doubt any of them (that are good) are going anywhere.

oh trust me I'd love to have VJax here. he is one of the best WR's in the game, but it's understandable why we wouldn't go after him.

IIRC, Jackson's changed his stance on holding out if franchised, probably cause it's going to be for just over 10M, as opposed to the 3M he was getting with the RFA tender.

one reason i think we at least look at floyd is that the san diego system has depended on big receivers. floyd knows the system and still has a good few years left. i don't care about the mentor thing, but we know that he isn't the risk that someone like VJax is. we also really don't have anyone that can compare with him. both lafell and gettis have a little size on them, but floyd is about 20 pounds heavier than either one and has at least an inch on both.

Top guys almost never become available so it was always a pipe dream. Only chance really would be to target players from a team like the Raiders/Jets/Vikes who have multiple deserving guys expiring and only one tag. Too bad the Panthers also seem to be in that position as well so I don't think they are going to outbid everyone on whichever of the 4 receivers hits the market. The only TE I think they have a shot at worth getting is Boss.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
