Gary Barnidge gets his shot?

We need a new tight end. The three that the panthers have just don't have what it takes. We have 3 TE's, and they all hold some talent and ability; King can block, Gary can run, and Rosario can catch.

We need one TE who can do all of this. Having a bunch of TE's that the other team can read and know exactly what they are able to do, and thus shut them down, is useless.

We need a new TE, or just pick one of our guys and keep them in to do everything, regardless of their strengths or weaknesses. We just need someone who isn't predictable and lets the other team know what play we are running.

he was third on the depth chart. i dont remember him getting many passes thrown his way.

In limited time Barniage has shown to be a pretty good reciever and a good blocker. If we can't get a big name I don't have a problem having him as the number one.

This same lineup has Bernie Mac and Garry Williams starting at LG and RT respectively as well. I wouldn't hold too much with that depth chart.

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing Barney get his shot. I've liked that kid from day one.

Interrupting: Didn't Bernadeau get his shot? He got better at LG, but if he is our best RG or even backup center, we have a long year ahead again. Bernadeau has some excellent technique--footwork and hands are wonderful. He just has mental lapses and is often beaten by better football players.

As for Williams, it became a joke- I noticed how many times he watched JC getting sacked. Every instant replay it seemed he had become disengaged with his man and was spectating when his QB bit the dust.

Exactly.. he got better, but not good enough to consistantly start imo. This depth chart is leaving Otah and Wharton out, most likely due to their injuries, and not something I'd consider anything more than a placeholder for right now. Anything can happen up to opening day kickoff, but it's highly unlikely Barney being in the #1 slot means anything at this moment in time.

I like Rosario more than the other two. Rosario blocks better and catches better routes, he can be the guy we need him to be.

I like him,well,2008 season performance though his playing time was limited.

Rosario has bricks attached to his wrists at times. He makes very nice catches other times. He's too inconsistent. Barnidge showed a lotta potential with the very limited time he got two years ago. I'm pretty sure he didn't get a single ball thrown his way this year.
