She said the Panthers said they won't draft Newton because they took Clausen last year. Don't know where she heard it and I'm too lazy to go ask. I doubt it's true, just passing along the message for discussion.

I have heard people who know as much as we do say that, people in the press, and that was the reason they gave. However, I don't think that would be the reason, because we were all over Luck. I still don't think the Panthers will draft Newton without a thorough and extensive background check. Even if he explains everything well, there is too much too explain for the Panthers to take him. I would be surprised if we went that direction. Nobody knows right now, but if you look at history and team philosophy, I would call Newton a long shot.
