Here is a side question:

Would you trade back for a 2026 first rounder?   For example, Let's say Atlanta wants to move up to 8.  (forget the conference rivalry crap--just an example).  They have pick 15, 46, and then a fourth and seventh.  The need a line of credit.  We could trade with them, move back to 15, and take their 2026 first rounder.   It would not help this year, obviously.  Me?  I would do it.  having 2 firsts in the 2026 draft with about 7 first round qbs means if Bryce fails, the Panthers would have the pick of the litter.

Anyone willing in the 'teens area of the draft to give up 26' first, you jump on it imo

On paper I don’t see a team that will trade up for Sanders.  Steelers aren’t coming up from 21…cost too much.  He could drop significantly until a team comes up bottom round 1 for him.

AJ is probably gone.  Panthers are going to pick there IMO unless something strange happens.  Still think it’s Williams

Call me crazy but I don't think Sanders makes it out top 5 and if he does I see Saints possibly getting aggressive after Carr news

Even if you don't need a QB, an extra 1st next year for moving down a bit this year is a huge value add.

Yeah I was referring to a trade up scenario but I do agree the Saints are a prime spot for him.

They say a 2026 first has the same value as a 2025 second--so it is not unreasonable--

Yea that's trade chart value.  But I'd rather have an extra 1st next year vs another 2nd this year.  If you're Dan and you think you're safe, it would be the move to make.

I wonder if Dan would take a 2026 first, second and third for the first this year, however.  All hypotheticals, but I imagine he is considering how he might respond now--he could even be arranging some tentative, conditional deals now.  It is finally Draft week.  Happy Easter

Absolutely. You never know where that 1st is going to end up. I know people say future 1sts aren't worth as much, but our 1st turned into the number 1 overall pick. How many of us said we should have traded Burns for those 2 1sts and 2nd? IF we had, we could have likely kept our picks, Moore, and used the Rams picks instead of our own which would have given us even more collateral when we traded out of the 1st spot to keep BY.

Unless there is a bonafide HoF talent, like Peppers, sitting there at that draft spot, you have to be open to move, regardless of the team you're trading with. You just have to make division opponents pay more because well, fug em.

with the Saints being one of the needy QB teams, 8 seems like the spot to go to if you want to control which QB you would want. Sure Dart and Sanders are not world beaters so having zero trade partners is definitely a possibility. If they like Mykel, a FS or the Michigan TE then trade down.

    • He's right. Tepper ain't the one out there dropping balls, or missing blocks, or putting up having comically bad drafts. He's the one responsible for hiring the people that have kept our scouting department that has been one of the worst at evaluating college talent in the NFL.  He forced the transition to the 3-4 even though we've never fully committed to it and never been able to draft or sign the players to do it.  He's the one that signed used car salesman Fat Fhule that hadn't even won a game against a ranked opponent.  Then he signed a GM that was one of if not the worst GM in the history of the NFL, only to replace him with his assistant.  Frank Reich hired and fired in 9 games. Multiple potential hires for HC turning down interviews.  Changing QBs like underwear. Personal quest to trade for a sexual predator QB and would have if the contract didnt have to be 100% guaranteed.  Terrible contracts Rock Hill debacle  2023 trade up to 1 and him and his wife drafting BY  Worst defense in NFL history. Worst record in major league sports over the time frame of his ownership and the fans need to be patient and understanding of an 8 year and counting rebuild? There being any fans left is a goddamn miracle.
