DE Johnson & RB Williams hope to stay

30% rule, DLo would require 25 mil signing bonus.

Not really talking about Williams. One of my favorite Panthers and I definitely want to see him stay, but we have legitimate backups ready if he decides to leave. We can afford to take the risk of him hitting free agency.

We CANNOT afford to let Johnson get away.

I think we will give Delo whatever he wants. I don't see Johnson asking for anything that is unreasonable (at least I hope not).

If Carolina gives DeAngleo whatever he wants......then they would be dumb as hellz. Run game is solid w/ or without DeAngelo....big dollars don't need to be pumped into the oldest RB. Big bucks are better used at a position of need like DT, TE , CB etc in free agency. DeAngelo would have to be willing to take less than what he can get elsewhere.

very few other teams are giving contract extensions to very few players.

for once, JR isn't the only one preparing for no football. =|

except for studs....lots of studs players got deals/extensions this entire season. The Kalil's of the NFL were dealt w/ if possible this year.

Mangold, McNiel(I think that's his name?, the Chargers LT), Patrick Willis, Mayo, Revis, Seymour, Bailey, Barber, etc. Those guys ALL got extensions this season. That's just off the top of my head, too. I'm sure there is a lot more to name.

I agree. When I said that, I wasn't implying that it is was the smartest thing to do. Just what I see us doing.

Brady, D'Brick Fergueson, Drew coleman left the jets and signed with the raiders, and numerous of other guys have signed contracts or extensions.

We need to get both men locked up, though if I had to choose one or the other it would be CJ. Guy generated virtually all of our pass rush even without a significant push from the DTs. We are relatively deep at the RB position though DWill is our best.

Hopefully both men are back in a Panthers jersey next season but it has to be for the right price.
