The Eagles and Ravens aren't really 80s football though.

Yeah, they just happen to be teams with all-time great RBs and all-time great running QBs. The majority of the rest of the league is throwing at a 60%+ clip.

Many teams looked at the drop-off as a reason not to select him in the first round.  Going into the 2024 season he was listed as a potential first round pick.  Morgan, IMO, based our pick on what he did in 2023 and expects him to play at the weight he played at Purdue.

Morgan did this twice in this draft.  Scourton and Evans.

saw one stat on Evans that he had 58 ypg in one of his previous seasons.  Plus Notre Dame has a history of good TEs that can catch and block. Canales will 3 good TEs that all will see time on the field.

I am actually really excited about this kid. One thing that really jumped off watching his highlights was he almost is too fast or almost over pursues.

You can get away with that stuff in college but the NFL these guys are stronger and more "slippery".

Little things that can be corrected but he seems to have a motor which is always a plus!

He apparently put on weight to play at A&M and lost a step because he was asked to play differently.  He's trimmed down and allegedly gained that step back.  He had significant production "lighter" and "heavier" but he fits our defense better in the "lighter" version.  I think it is a solid pick and time will tell.

If he looks good in camp and preseason I honestly expect us to bite the bullet and release Clowney. I don't think we're going to find a trade partner.

Yea I could see that as well but I'd keep Clowney as he'd be a good mentor for Nic and Princely.

Would we really release our best pass rusher on a team that was bottom 5 in sack percentage? I do feel like he's going to be traded right before the deadline though.

    • I will admit this- Kon doesn't look or play like a 19 year. Much bigger and filled out than I thought he was. Plus initiate the offense during his best quarter and he did make some good passes for FG attempts.   I watch NBA years ago and was a top 3 fantasy yahoo managers for years. Many times a player had like 30 points, it mostly came from one or 2 hot quarters. The others were 5 and 0, so his 16 point game is normal in that regard.    If Ball, bridges, and Miller allow Kon to be apart of the team, just depends on if he clicks of not. Another generic white guy comp popped in my head........he of hornet lore-Gordon Hayward 15 points 5 rebs 3.5 asst Maybe??

    • Especially with no other major sports in the area other than UNCW basketball and soccer. It's a good 2 1/2 hour drive just to catch a collegiate football game. If this new arena were built I would hope it also includes an Adult League - I would join up and time allowing would be more than happy to help coach some youth teams. 😄
