100% a different game with Chetfield or Nikishin. That's why I'm not too pressed about this. I'll be pressed if Game 2 is a repeat of Game 1.

I'm trying to rack my brain but I'm not sure I've seen a player with a worse game than this one by Morrow and I've been watching Hockey for 30 years.

Well at least this time you’re not blaming it all in the goalie lol. Guess you didn’t see Staal losing the puck resulting in a goal or other player missteps.

Read earlier in the thread I called that horrid unforced turnover out..... Morrow also sold completely on that play. Maybe one goal was stoppable due to the turnovers and the fact he was screened on every single one.

Look Morrow played poorly. However he alone didn’t lose the game. There were 7 players in the minus column. We couldn’t score, and the Caps played a superior game.

The whole team didn’t play well. Morrow was horrific.  Freddie was no good. In fact I don’t know when was the last time I saw us get Molly woped like that while outshooting them. Rod was not pleased post game. I listened to Adam gold on the can sea corner podcast and he wasn’t happy. Good news it that’s just game one. Gotta regroup

Maybe play Janko and Nikishin?

Freddie wasn't good but he also wasn't bad TBH he had 0 chance at stopping of those goals due to uncharacteristic unforced turnovers and the fact we never seem to start out protecting the middle of the ice Jankowski should be playing, Rod made a retarded choice playing Morrow over Boom the kid was not ready for the big pressure of a game like this....

No not alone but he was easily the biggest contributor to the Loss, on the ice for 4 goals allowed completly out of position and lost and the goal he wasn't on the ice for what a penalty he caused.

Statistically he did lose the game. Either the 3 turnovers and the -3 because he cause three goals with those bad turnovers or you can go with game score and it being a -4.5.

Statistically and eyeball test Morrow was so bad that I'm not sure he even gets a chance to crack the team next year.

Gotta laugh at the “I gotta find one guy to blame for a 5-2 loss” fellas. Same guys who hated on Freddie on a loss before the playoffs lol.

Looking at the replays Morrow was in or should have been in a position he could have helped prevent 2 of the goals. The other 3 goals not so much.

He had a turnover on all three goals he was on the ice for. Plus he had that god awful delay of game penalty. Like legit his GS actually shows he was the cause of the loss and he was only on the ice for 12 minutes. You remove him from that game and the Canes win or at worst go to OT.

Let's put this in perspective, in 12 minutes he directly led to 3 goals against. In the 48 minutes without him on the ice it was an even-steven 2-2 game and that's disregarding that god awful delay of game penalty that led to goal number 4 of the 5 given up.

I don't see how anyone could say that he didn't directly lead to the loss.

    • https://x.com/4thand1show/status/1975274357174784272?s=46   saw this this morning and came to post something similar. I didn’t just love the team or the wins, I loved those dudes man. They put everything they had out there every Sunday. You didn’t see a rep where anybody on that field was low effort in that era, and if you did they were quickly sent packing.
    • …is Brycen Tremayne with 108 yards. Not sure what that tells us but I imagine it’s some sort of gumbo consisting of the following: - Bryce can’t push the ball downfield  - contrary to what many were saying this offseason, the wr still needs a lot of work.  - we need Coker back badly.  - Brycen is pretty good! Congrats to that young man! Curious to hear other’s read on it. Was a pretty surprised to see he had more yards than anyone other than Tet and thought that was symptomatic of our issues on offense.
    • I don’t think many fans would have guessed the Chiefs and Ravens would be where they are right now. Same goes for some surprise packages like the Colts, I’m not sure many would have put money on them being top of their division after five weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if this continues!   Not necessarily. The Chargers have lost both starting OL and their 1st and 2nd choice RBs. They fell apart against Washington. The Broncos have just beat the Eagles, so they’d be my favourite in that division, but they are still only one win ahead of the Chiefs. All the Chiefs need is a couple of results to go their way and they’ll be right in the fight for the AFC East. I think that division is going to be very close and probably not a 12 or 13 win division like predicted. Unless of course the Broncos kick on.
