Off season workouts.

Doubt we'll get much news, but it's something.  Depends a lot on media availability.   We can run onfield drills and practice, but no contact.    Maybe we'll get some updates on some situations.  Maybe not.

But it's something.

OTA Offseason Workouts    May 27-28, May 30, June 2-3, June 5
Mandatory Minicamp    June 10-12

Question. Outside of Joe Person, Sheena Quick, Mike Kaye, David Newton... Who else are good twitter/x accounts to follow for Panthers reporting/content?

Vashti drops some nuggets every so often

Josh Klein used to be plugged in but I think his dude left and then he moved to Europe

Ellis used to be good but got neutered when he got credentials

But all in all I think Kaye and Person stand out.  Kaye has a bit more detailed insight but I think Person pushes back a wee bit more.

Derrick Brown is back practicing eight months after meniscus surgery. Big development.

Do not see Tommy Tremble.

Brown is not doing team drills. Just as well.

#Panthers of importance I don’t see: Tommy Tremble, DJ Wonnum (OTAs are voluntary***)

#Panthers of importance working off to the side: Derrick Brown, Taylor Moton, Jalen Coker

Xavier Legette just made a catch on a deep crosser in 11 on 11. As he got to the sideline, he playfully threw the ball back to Tetairoa McMillan and they celebrated their way back to the offensive group. #Panthers

Chau Smith-Wade just picked off a pass (couldn’t see QB) over the middle to McMillan in 11 on 11 drills.

Bryce Young comes in and immediately hits McMillan on a slant over the middle. #Panthers

Chau Smith-Wade made a great break to pick off Bryce Young in team drills.

#Panthers TE Ja’Tavion Sanders just made a heavily covered catch over two defenders off a throw by Andy Dalton (it was perfect placement).

Rifle can still sling it.

    • Everyone says AT was old and slow but the one thing he could do consistently was get separation. That takes skill and it's been a huge issue in our WR for years. And while Moore may be a great locker room guy and our WR coach may be a 12 year vet, he's not playing in the game. Vets like AT do what they do because they can see things others don't and exploit it. The DB interview I mentioned before was with Stephon Gilmore after his DPOY season. He was pulling the younger DBs aside showing them things you wouldn't even think you'd be able to tell from the way the receiver was standing.  Seeing what a DB or LB is biting on in game that can give you that half step advantage is huge and we don't have that experience in our WR group right now and I think it could end up hurting us. None of our receivers have lined up against NFL corners successfully on a regular basis. Having someone that can walk over and give you a tip to get a half yard separation can be a difference maker.
    • We only fielded about 4 NFL calibre players on that unit last year.
    • only 1 QB in the history of mankind has managed a winning record with his opportunities in the David Tepper era.    Bring in PJ.   He has NFL tools.  He will at least be entertaining if called upon.  How is that not better than Andy.  *PJ Walker bandwagon is back up now that it is....not...time for for the percolator.
