I have confidence in the Canes FO and coaching staff.  I will miss Burnsy, but it was probably the right decision.  He lost a step and a half last year for sure.

SJ overpaid Orlov who never really fit here, which I found odd but whatever.

We have cap space, some movable parts, and some young guys in the system who may surprise.  I like where we are....just gotta beat Florida!

SJ overpaid because they have to hit the cap floor.

Burns played well in the Washington and FL series, but overall did not look good last year. Colorado is a good place for him to be a 3rd line LD, which is what he probably should have been for us

Hertl might still be a possiblity. 

Vegas is going after Rasmus Andersson and would need to shed salary to make it happen.

There is no comparison between the two.....

 

KK was a bust, Miller had a rough year in laviolettes system but he does produce.

I wouldn't even say KK has been a bust, he was signed to be the 3rd center to replace Staal with potential to be the 2nd center. Staal didn't retire so it forced KK to the 2nd line where he shouldn't be. He's fine as a 3rd line guy.

If he’s fine as a 3rd line guy he would be easy to trade.  Nobody wants him lol.

They almost traded him and the Dallas first at the trade deadline for Boeser.

I meant when we acquired him he was a full on bust for Montreal, heck considering he was a #3 pick he is a bust. 

 

I wont argue he would be a serviceable low end #3 center but lets be real a guy drafted #3 should be much better.

Yep if Rantanen hadn't taken so long to make a deal with Dallas, Boeser would have been a Cane at the deadline. Just ran out of time making the final details work out.
