I mean being an asshole behind someone who is already going the speed limit is not being a decent person either.  People think they ow. The road and everyone needs to get put of their way. I move over when/if I can, but a lot of drivers will just be an ass to get one spot ahead

I usually drive 5-8 miles above speed limit but do sometimes go with traffic which can be 10-15 over on highway.  Shoo, I drive behind local cops who go 10-15 over speed limit.  I never drive above 5mph in school zone.  Most cops do not care if you go 5-8 miles above speed limit unless school zone.  If you drive speed limit, create bottleneck and do not yield, you are an ass.

I usually drive 8-10 over as well, if I'm going faster than the lane behind me and an asshole comes up behind me on my ass and I'm already going well over the speed limit, they will have to wait till I can safely get over. What they want is for you to go faster which is being an asshole

This last year my biggest issue is slow drivers.  And I don't mean people going the speed limit.  I mean people going like 10-15 UNDER the speed limit.  It's really a pain on two way roads like McKee and Ballantyne Commons.  There are areas that are 45 and people are just rocking out at 25-30 in rush hour morning and afternoon traffic.

Slow drivers on 2 lane roads especially can create dangerous circumstances. And I definitely get the frustration. At the same time far too many people nowadays are demented behind the wheel. I mean you can be running 10 over and still some idiot will be riding your bumper. And where I live even in residential areas people speed. Unless there are heavy speed bumps they just barrel right over them. Truth be told Americans on the roads are the worst beings you'll ever encounter on this planet. Sadly not an exaggeration.

This right here is what I’m talking about when I made this post.  It’s so irritating.  Creates a massive bottleneck on already congested roads and makes people go crazy and put others at risk.

Interesting that I said if your driving so close and so aggressive that it feels like you’re in my backseat I wouldn’t let you bully me and I’m somehow the inconsiderate ass.

I think people are giving you those responses because you are letting the "bullies" (your word) dictate how you drive. Don't set cruise control; don't drop to the speed limit. Simply continue what you're doing and yield when safe to do so.

No, it's not your obligation to yield. But you have to realize bullying the bully isn't going to solve anything. If you want to make a real difference, support mental health for the poor guys who will be using a snow shovel to pick up speeders' remains from the hot summer asphalt.

Or just don't be an ass and hang out in the left lane. Just use common courtesy. The people who tailgate and be an ass are no better and its not a surprise that a lot of road rage incidents occur when inconsiderate people and assholes cross paths. Just make an effort not to be either. "Not allowing the bully to bully you" is also being an inconsiderate ass to the people behind the "bully" who would also like you to GTFO of the left lane.

Bullying the bully is quite the piece of linguistic gymnastics

how is the person who is being intimidated by an aggressive driver actually bullying them by not giving in to the intimidation? Is that what you tell your kids? Just give the bully what they want?

it’s getting humorous watching the tailgaters work so hard to make others the bad guy.

Are you in the left lane with cars piling up behind you? If yes, you're lollygagging. If it's an individual aggressive driver and you're actively passing while in the left lane then yes, that driver is being the asshole. Just use the left lane for passing the right lane for riding. It's really a pretty simple social contract. And intentionally hanging out or slowing down on the left lane just to flex your rights and show somebody who's boss makes you an asshole.
