Cowboys interested in Cam Newton??

you are confusing "we" as in us with the Carolina Panthers Front Office. No one here has any clue what they actually think of him, and will not until the Draft. They might already think hes pretty good, or they might think hes not worth the trouble

The Panthers are already showing their hand, to a degree. They brought in coaches who are great teachers. Shula fits that category. They tagged the second C ever to be tagged while a top 4-3 DE with about 12 sacks was in the same boat. Maybe they are not, as Warren Moon describes Cam, putting the "Cart before the horse." Looks like a building process has begun.

They are going to stress fundamentals, coaching, and it looks like the offensive line will be a priority. I think JR realizes that he created a mess here. He will not gamble with this pick, and that has been the formula for Hurney's first round success. If we get a trade offer that is decent, we will take it. I see Buffalo, Cincinnati (Palmer wants out), and Arizona as possible trade partners if it is solely about draft picks. Darkhorses are Tennessee, San Francisco, Washington, and Minnesota. I see other teams involved if a CBA is in place and players could be involved.

I doubt we draft an ICON. We never have chased fool's gold in the first round, and this draft is significant. If Marty can save face by adding a second rounder and dropping out of the hig-profile, pressure pick, he will. I would take DT Marcell Dareus and QB Christian Ponder (if you have to have a rookie QB) or TE Kyle Rudolph and a second rounder in 2012 for the top pick, and laugh about it.

Ugh, they would have to give me more than anybody has even mentioned so far, because Cam Newton would put that team over the top. I do not want to watch the Cowboys win another Super Bowl. They already have Rob Ryan, who will have their defense in the top 5 very shortly, and they are loaded with WR's and RB's.

I'd take Romo and their #1 in a heartbeat.

I don't know what's wrong with you people that wouldn't

Romo is another WCO guy though. There is no guarantee at all that he would fit here. In fact, I really believe that Clausen is more suited for a WCO, because there is a lot more short passing in that style of play.

I don't want any of those WCO guys, including McNabb and Kolb.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
