3 games this weekend featuring matchups of top 10 teams? Heck yeah!

and most of the more popular local teams got some fun looking matchups as well.  Really need to prep the wife about how little I plan to do for her this weekend.

LSU will beat Clemson. Not some big upset.  Buckeyes beat Texas as well.  Should be fun

Bit of a coin flip but I think you gotta favor Clemson in that one.

Clemson probably rolling w/ the best overall roster in college football this year.   Everyone returning essentially. At home.  At night.

LSU obviously has Brian Kelly as a HC and it's opening weekend.  So, that's what it is.  Plus, LSU got all sorts of new players and bodies everywhere to figure out.

I do think the Clemson game will be the best of the big games from a pure entertainment aspect.   And as a Clemson fan, best time to catch LSU is right now vs later when they figure things out more.

Early season games are always a big coin flip since preseason rankings are just complete projections based on some varying combination of legit expectations and hype. I mean, we all know that the blue bloods are gonna be good but how the tiers are gonna actually break out and which mid-tier teams are gonna end up punching well above their weight? Total crap shoot.

I think my Heels may have a chance to be one of those mid-tier teams simply riding competent coaching and a feather soft schedule. We'll see...

    • Been here a while but rarely post and most of them are smartazz. Mostly lurk just so I can sound informed while hanging out drinking beer in my neighbors garage. Amusingly a Huddle level of knowledge kind of makes you a subject matter expert. Thanks for that.
    • That’s similar as saying MVP Cam is the same as rookie Cam because his mechanics didn’t change. We’re talking about production.
    • In 2025 Sam Darnold had over 1k more passing yards than Bryce Young on 1 less pass attempt. Repeat that to yourself several times and let it sink in. I absolutely love it when people come on here and invoke Sam Darnold like some gotcha. Darnold is the physical prototype for what anyone needs in a franchise QB. All the physical tools. Few people thought he would put it all together on the mental side of the position. He used to make some of the worst decisions you would ever see. At times in the past he made up for that with absurd throws and athleticism. But make no mistake whatsoever no matter how you feel about our starting QB. Bryce Young is a completely opposite conundrum. He lacks virtually any and all physical tools and athleticism and his elite processing is really mediocre at best on a good day and horrific on a bad day. These are realities people should have already been addressing instead of quadrupling down in year four.
