Everyone focused on Stover’s block on DB, and it was a good block, but did y’all see how quickly DB beat the center? Man, we missed that guy last year.

I think our run defense will be much much better this year with DB and a true nose tackle....  and Moerig.

I dont expect much from our pass rush yea we drafted some guys I think will be good but its just not often rookie edge rushers drafted outside the top 10 make a huge impact.

Got to think Renfrow running ahead of Horn at this point.  Think Renfrow has about 4 grabs out there with Dalton.  Yet to here Horn’s name out there

If Hunter is healthy its a no Brainer in my book, Healthy he might be in the conversation for best slot WR in the NFL.

I think he converts a lot of third downs for us this year.

That may be what Canales says but his actions/play calling suggest otherwise.  Even given our crappy defense last year we were still 25th in the nfl at rushing attempts at 410.

You realize this is an argument for less runs not more?

Most points given up in NFL history you cant play eat the clock and ball control when your down multiple scores.

When you are down by a couple of scores or more in the second half, you pass the ball more.  And we were down by two scores in the second half a lot.

For example, in the second Saints game, the second half play numbers were about even in terms of rushes vs passes.  In the Giants game, we had more runs than passes.  In the KC game, we were down by 11 at half, and ended up with more passes than runs.

That being said, there were probably games in which Canales thinks he should have run more, such as the first Tampa game.

It will interesting to see if we run more now that we might have a true two back system.  Aside from 1 or 2 games, Sanders just didn't do much last year.

Yea he doesn't seem to understand clock management and the fact you dont run it out on yourself when your down.

Very promising to hear about the offense looking decent and the defense showing up. The pass rush still being a work in progress as Scourton and Umanmielen get their pro legs underneath them is going to be a thing but it sounds like Evero's disguised coverages are helping give the rush time to get there.

I don't think we have the talent at ILB to consistently send a guy on a blitz in order to aid the rush, but with the improved secondary play (Hell yea, Corey Thornton!) I think we're going to see a return to more of what the team did in 2023 - 2024.
