Seems like an organizational thing. Every year we do this. All lackadaisical through camp and preseason but talking confident like we can just flip the switch when the regular season gets here but then the regular season gets here and we find out that we can't just flip a switch and turn it on.

And every year its a different 53.

Im not down with condemning someone for their lack of effort before Ive seen them perform when it counts.

DC may well possess a lassie fair attitude when it comes to pre-season that ultimately proves to be detrimental but Im going to take exception with damning the whole squad.

There's dudes out there that have worked their whole life for this moment

Hence why I said it seems organization. Sure, some are busting their asses but when the overall organizational approach is lackadaisical the end result is going to be poor overall team performance.

The panthers are considered a less than desirable place to play due to bad ownership and losing. Current players aren’t dumb when they see a team that isn’t that good. If you don’t have a true alpha leader like Jake, Cam, Luke, TD, or a hard ass coach like Wilks, Ron, or Fox to lead men, the players aren’t going to play hard. They want to get paid but won’t put their bodies on the line. Bryce is a beta. Canalas is a beta. Brown is soft spoken. Theilen or Horn may be closest thing to a leader we have but they aren’t the right positions on the team to be the leader. The team is soft as butter poo with paycheck boys running the show. We need a true alpha at QB, DE LB or Coach. Esp at coach. Canalas ain’t it. We don’t have it. So yeah, it’s an effort issue.

I think we just got spoiled by back to back longer tenured "old school professional" head coaches.

We literally had 18 straight years of guys knowing exactly what it takes to be a professional football player and professional organization.

Haven't had it since. Closest was Reich but he never stood a chance to even attempt it. Team and staff built by committee.

Please regale us with your stories of choosing the elite of the elite teams youve pondered this choice over.

I mean you speak with such conviction, you must have experience

Wilks was the closest thing. That man had us playing hard nose football.

I dont think anyone posting on this forum or posting a video on youtube has a fraction on an idea of what it takes to get on a roster as an NF player year after year.  Can any of you say what its like to be the top 1.5% of your profession much less the top .4% of your profession that get recognition?

Lack of effort my ass

no we dont know and I want you to agree with you

however the performance says otherwise

again, the tape dont lie,

either there is hustle and drive or it isnt. They remind me of the Saints or the Bucs back in the day … glad to be here.

blame the organization. Coaching. Whatever

All i know is it is pretty shitty being the poor side of the outcome all the time

100%.  And people understandably people got tired and bored of that lifestyle.  But I think overall, the fanbase largely thought the only real direction was even better and that it was simple.  But it's much easier to do worse than Fox/Ron.  And we have found that out.

I don't really consider an interim coach to be on the list. Didn't have an offseason to prepare, etc. Hard to judge overall.

I do also think Wilks was vastly overrated by our fanbase. He looked so good because he was competent in a sea of absolute poo.

I think his peak effectiveness level is defensive positional coach. Nothing wrong with that. Not everyone is suited to be a HC.

We'll know by week 3 if it is time to just blow this whole thing up and try to get in on the Mike Tomlin bidding wars.

We've been the most lackluster team in the league for almost a decade now.

Remember when we tried to win pre-season games because YOU fuging TRY TO WIN EVERY fuging GAME??????

Now we just want some smooth vibes going into the season.

Yeah, that was the classic example of the grass not always being greener. I would kill to have the mediocrity with occasional peaks of excellence we experienced under those guys. It's been quite the ride all the way to the bottom of the NFL.

Fair take and yeah it sucks constantly sucking.

I guess Im railing against the lazy, blanket condemnations that have become so common and the lack of folks diving into the nuts and bolts of what not going right.
