And yet he played and played well. I'm reasonably positive they're comfortable with his knee situation if they decided to extend him. I can understand if we signed him for 5-6 years, but it's a 2-year extension.

We have plenty on this team to be legitimately worried about; Taylor Moton is not one of them.

Sorry man, a 300+ pounder on the wrong side of 30 dealing with chronic knee issues is definitely a concern. BEFORE this extension most of us were saying that we hope he can hold up over the course of the season much less future seasons.

Interpret Moron's words carefully.

"Looking forward, I do believe I have another contract in me," Moton said, per The Athletic. "But right now my focus is on the 2025 season and making sure I do whatever I can to have the best season I can for everybody involved."

"I do believe I have another contract in me." Not years of play, another CONTRACT.

I hope I'm reading way too much into all this but I think we just got fleeced.

Your truth. Mine would look something like this…

”Panthers just extended their RT. He’s been a steady presence for years. This helps solidify our OL and secure it will remain a strength. Hopefully, he’ll be a career Panther.”

Your intelligent NFL friend likely would’ve responded with something like, “Nice signing. Helps Bryce continue to grow with good support from his OL.”

Because you left out the key pertinent CURRENT information. Your mindset is where the Panthers have been stuck for years. You don't pay someone for what they have done in the past, you pay them for what you expect them to do in the future. You shouldn't expect a 31 year old lineman with chronic knee issues who missed time last year and was barely able to practice to continue to hold up.

Yeah, I think you are. In terms of how professional athletes think about these things another contract and years of play are basically the same thing. And I'm not saying it's not a concern; just that I don't think we decide to extend him without thoroughly examining his knee and having confidence it wouldn't be a major issue for the life of the contract.

Supposedly we have like $19 mil in cap already available. If we are having to "clear" cap space for a move......this does not sound good. This sounds like the prelude to a panic move.

Tepper's gonna fire me if the current roster takes the field for 17 games, so now its time for a Madden trade.  Hold my beer.

A doctor can't tell you how things are going to go with a chronic issue that's largely about pain management. Something one person can deal with another can't and it's not really about pain tolerance as much as it is just variance from one individual to the next. One person can be dealing with an issue that the images look like he should be barely getting around and he's actually doing alright. Another person can be dealing with an issue that doesn't look all that bad in images but he's practically crippled with pain.

The best indicator is how things have been progressing and last year things took a considerable turn for the worst so obviously we decided to pay him. LOL

    • there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.  it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying
    • I'd actually like to see Cherelus get a fair shot to win the job in camp. Wallace is decent in drop zone coverage, but he gets abused in the play action game and is often times out of position in the run game. It might just be me, but I swear every time I watch Wallace play, I see multiple plays a game were it looks like he's just trying to be blocked. Watching Cherelus last year he at least looked like he was trying to hit someone on every play. Wallace plays like a LB who doesn't trust what he sees and it makes him passive and cautious versus Cherelus who regardless of if his decision is right or wrong goes at it 100%.
    • Agreed.  Hasn’t happened to me either, but I feel very strongly about it.  That’s not just one of the worst things a woman could do to a man, it’s a power inherent to only women and is one of the worst things a HUMAN being can do to another.  A man can’t “hide” a pregnancy or maternity.  It’s impossible.  And that sucks for anyone that has to go through that. I always got a weird vibe off her and just found her very unlikeable.  Annoying even.  I’ve always been good at reading people and there was just something about her to me that was off-putting, somewhere under the surface.  And here we are…  she is despicable.
