I would say he was statistically worse. I didn't see him. But thet were quick to move on from a draft pick.

Sometimes those are just the breaks.  Like how we flushed Matt Corral down the toilet with like 2 plays on tape, and then gave Jack Plummer 16 quarters of preseason football before we decided he's unbearable.

To be fair, Corral has since proven to not even be a CFL caliber player.

This simply isn't true no matter how many times you or anyone else tries to spread lies.

Predraft I wanted Stroud over Bryce yes. But once the pick was made I was fully in support of our pick. I even defended the guy from some other people still clowning on him about being small in preseason of 2023.

But everything changed once he started playing poorly in his rookie season. There were variables that contributed to his struggles but he hurt the team a lot too. He ended up finishing with one of the statistical worst rookie seasons in decades. There were many people concluding he was a bad pick. I still didn't outright call him a bust though.

Now 2024 the stakes got even higher. There was a great deal of back and forth leading up to the regular season that year. Bryce made some comments about taking time off and doing mundane things and that didn't go over particularly well. Eventually things got quite contentious and there were many heated arguments heading into camp. I actually left for a few months to see how things would go and predictably all the derailed threads and bitter disputes continued.

That preseason of 2024 there were also many discussions about our lack of playing starters and how preseason ultimately didn't matter. Then we opened the season with Bryce putting in two of the worst QB perfomances in a long time in two of the worst losses in a long time. Ultimately Bryce played better down the stretch after the benching. But there is still a great deal more we need to see from him early and across the entire upcoming season. He needs to play like a top 15 QB. It simply has to happen given where we drafted him and the pieces that we have built around him. He's got more than other QB's have had to work with especially along the offensive line.

But if your opinion is that anyone that is concerned he may regresses again are simply haters I would argue it's you that is the problem. Every other QB before Bryce has faced these questions and criticisms. None of it is new. None if it will ever stop. That comes with the territory of the position and it is the same across the league.

You can't help but wonder how  a Prime Cam would have performed with this crew of lineman blocking for him and a receivers like Coker, Theilen, and TMac to throw to. Add in a top notch TE like Olsen and we'd be favorites to make a deep run in the NFC playoffs.

You know, some of the linemen from Cam's era would likely have started over a few of these guys(if not all). 

Gross, Wharton, Kalil, Norwell, Turner, etc. Plus Steve Smith Sr. for a short bit and DJ Moore too.

That was always sort of the issue with that era of Panthers football, these things just never intersected at the right times.

Also, the defense now is so incredibly much worse than it was then. That would have been a mess to navigate.

Kyle Allen has been having some good preseasons lately.  Alot of steeler fans wanted him to start some games for them last year and he won the number 2 job for the lions this year.
