The cruel irony of Bryce is that game manager is his ceiling

In school. I the NFL if the other team comes to play then he isn't even that. His good games came when the opponent was playing way down to the other team.

The Dallas game last year really stuck out and had me concerned. Looks like that concern was valid. Yes, he was impressive those last 3 games but it never felt sustainable.
This game proves it wasn’t.

Every one of 'those' games looked like the opponents were playing down and almost at practice level. It was a huge red flag to me but it was swept under the rug. The Jags played hard they wanted to win and they are not a good team. It's year 3 so it's going to be hard to spin this BS. With how bad the team is again we will see minimum effort from opponents at some point again so look put for it.

I think I read somewhere that statistically the defenses we faced those weeks had some of their worst performances.
I completely believe it was teams playing down to their competition. Not us actually being good.

Ah yes the fabled "big time throw" metric that said Bryce Young was better than Josh Allen Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow lol

We have been so bad while thr commentary shines their best light but the product on the field made me laugh when lifting Young up in those games. It was more practice for the other teams or a wake up call to put more effort in.

That crap is why I trust my eyes over stats and PFF.

It's just a new stat they tried out. Not sure that one has any value so it could disappear quietly much like the test that Young took.

    • I honestly wish Julius Peppers had gotten sick of some of Steve's bullshit and put him on his ass. Because I honestly think that was the one guy Steve wanted no part of.
    • Just worry about it next year.  Its that simple honestly.  its way to early to do what ifs.  I could see us trade/cut chuba and retain dowdle, I could see them let dowdle walk and go with Chuba/Etienne and Brooks, and I could see Dowdle and Chuba both stay and see what happens.  Hell, we still have 6 games left THIS season plus possible post-season...what if Rico or Chuba have an ACL tear or severe injury.  I DO NOT want that to happen, but stuff like that does happen.  Remember RB is the most injury prone position in the NFL due to the beating their bodies take so having some extra guys is never bad, just wish it hadn't come at the cost we paid to get him.
    • I think it’s cool that no one can be really certain what the outcome will be.  That’s a lot of progress! This is a real opportunity for us, I’d be happy with a competitive game and thrilled if we sack up for a W.
