You all over the map.   First you scoff at seam routes being hospital balls…despite the fact those are always routes QB have to be worried about throwing their WR into a hit.

now you are countering with the “you act like Renfrow is on IR” defense

and the “but how did he keep playing after that” defense lol

it’s a hospital.  Simple.  You even got NFL QBs explaining it to you in real time with the all22 and telling exactly where Bryce need to put the ball and when.

You exclusively highlighted Hunter's name on the injury report and then immediately cast blame. I've pointed out that this wasn't the hospital ball you claim it to be while also acknowledging that there could have been another option to target instead of Renfrow.

By everything you've expressed here, you don't think seam routes should ever be thrown. I don't know how that helps the already struggling offense, but I do know that it would make it even worse than it already is. Scapegoating never has and never will solve anything.

Tell you what: Try not blaming Bryce or casting shade his way for the entire week after Arizona and instead look at the other 21 starters and assess what they're doing (again, without shading Bryce). I'll join you and refrain from exploring what the rest of the team is doing and will focus solely on what Bryce needs to do better. Deal? This is a sincere peace offering to allow us to explore the other's perspective and perhaps be even more informed football fans.

Immediately cast blame? We had been talking about the bad throws to Hunter (the missed TDs and hospital ball) for days leading up to that injury report.   And yeah, the rib injury then becomes something to point out.

and you are getting desperate with this projected extremism.  No one  said you should never throw seams.  I shared with you an article after you scoffed at seams being routes you can get hung out to dry on….and it was the best of the best talking about the dangers of those routes.   And they talked about it because they threw them a lot and there dudes were at risk so the throws really matter.  Because you can hurt your receivers.

we disagree, cool.  I got a pro Bryce former NFL QB calling it a hospital ball and bad throw.  So I got a plus +1 making my argument.  Find a QB that backs your take.

Yeah, here is Brady, Gronk and the prime Patriots discussing the dangers and risk TE/slots face with seam routes.

you way too smart to be defending some of this bro

How did Renfrow get the rib injury and why wasn’t that classified a drop.  Go check the game day thread.  Entire board could ID that obvious one in real time.

I read the entire article.

Seam routes are great against a single high safety because they have to make a decision.  They can be high risk, high reward play but they are a staple in nearly every NFL game.  Just because they are tight windows doesn't make them hospital balls.

The biggest takeaway from that whole article was this is football.  You're going to get hit.  You can get lit up on any play.  QB tries the best he can to judge the distance but the structure of the play is going to get you hit and that safety can run down hill.

Here is one to Sanders, from the same game, who slows down slightly and puts himself in a better position to make the catch without getting lit up.  Hunter ran full tilt and jumped.  No fear running that route which is what Grok recommends.

Its says Questionable. You really that bothered by appendicitis?

I do not his healing or how the surgery went. Just 3 weeks for a grown man with all sorts of "juice" in his system, I just know toughness is not of strength of his....... I knew that when a safety pancaked him years ago....

I do think back to Chris Sims speen game and he finished it somehow. Went to the hospital and if he came a couple hours laters, he would be rip. Im just different about injuries and too old school about it. Still 4 full weeks for this, something else must have happened. I've been taking my pops to visits and they are scared to death about infections, Icky could have easily got one. DJ had issues in rehab last year.

Yeah, it’s not complicated.

is a seam route a hospital ball? No.

can a seam route be a hospital ball ? Yes.

if you are throwing seam routes do you need to make sure you don’t hang your TE/WR out to dry? Yes.  Because of injury.

as a former NFL QB explained….Bryce was late with the throw (common issue with Bryce) and  threw it too far up field.  So a seam route became a hospital ball.

result? An incompletion that got his WR banged up

honestly have no clue what Bryce defenders are doing at this point.   I’m out on talking about all his bad throws from Sunday.

That entire article you posted was about the route being very difficult to throw and receivers running the route should count on getting hit.

Let's me put it another way.  No matter how good the throw is there is a very good chance that player is taking a hit.  QB knows it.  Receiver knows it.  Safety knows it.

I guess it must also be Tom Brady's greatest flaw because those seam routes to Grok took a heavy toll getting Grok lit up often.  I wish we had a Grok so Bryce could throw more of those seam hospital balls.

I don’t know what to tell yall,  literally a NFL QB in slow motion breaks down where the ball should have gone and when…and the difference it provides Renfrow on that play.  It’s two different worlds for the WR.   Oh, and it’s probably then a completion of course

    • The question was if you were Morgan what would you do with the team since Bryce is a bust.  I don't agree at all he is and I certainly don't blame the fans for his play. Fans being short sighted and dumb is totally separate from the question posed and in no way did I say or indicate that my fault of any coaching or on field play is the fault of said fans. My answer is I would Keep Pounding and methodically building.  If Bryce turns out to be a bust, then yes, horrible mistake.  The trade capital makes it even worse.  Just because we traded up for Bryce doesn't change anything now.  We begged for a methodical build and now we are doing it.  Right now.  And all it took was one bad game after all the progress last year for you to fold. If the Jags game is just another dip in the Bryce/Canales stock on the way up then the plan is still working. Canales, Morgan and company are one year in.  Building methodically.  Improving overall.  One bad game doesn't prove me right or you wrong.  And Bryce's play, which was bad, in that game isn't the last straw saying, yep, now there's is zero chance.  Let's cut him, maybe fire the coach, look for a new GM and start all over again.
    • It's so bizarre. It is the immediate go to for some people. They act like this is the prime Cam years when people were attacking him despite changing our culture making us relevant across the league and more often than not keeping us competitive. This is not that. This has not been that for a long time. And Bryce Young is at this point in time a downgrade to every QB we have started since Cam. But the fans are the problem!
