You see, this is why I'm more critical of Dave Canales

I'm critical of Dave Canales and his decision making. I don't believe that he's been a very good coach. It was pointed out to me in another thread that he can only do so much with Bryce. That may be true, but Canales isn't doing his players any favors either. Apparently he seems to think that these guys on offense are mix and match---plug and play. He doesn't seem to fully understand the concept of putting guys in the best position to succeed. I cringe when we are in short yardage, but don't have Chuba in the game. I mean, everyone knows we aren't going to QB-sneak it which puts the runner already at a disadvantage, so why not use your power guy. Hell, I suspect Etienne has more power than Rico Dowdle.  Anyway...

I'm glad that I ain't the only one that thinks DC is just misusing personnel. Tim Donnelly speaks to some of the things I've been thinking, and he's as frustrated as I am with the way that some of our players are being used.

He starts by saying, in so many words, to not be fooled by fool's gold. But he basically goes into the fact that DC isn't doing his damned job.

*Sigh*

I have seen little to indicate he should be a HC. All noise and nothing to show for it. WTF is Evero still doing here? Dalton? Corbett already back on IR?

I goes on and on. But he is just one of the many problems. I'm just tired of all these goobers ruining football.

Hes still a new coach but he needs to be on a steep learning curve to manage this conglomeration of sht...But Kung is right...its a combination of things.

This is what happens when you willingly become a dumpster fire. We chose to do this all the way back in 2019. Instead of attempting to retool, we chose to rebuild. Then each progressive rebuilding attempt tore it down more and more. Since that decision, we are 29-73.

I said it was a mistake at the time and it would send us into a deep spiral. I said it in the Huddle many times.

It turned out to be the case. And there is no realistic end in sight.

That’s on Dan Morgan as well… dude has been a disaster.  Nice guy but not a dawg… sorry, Dan.

We love you as a player but you just not cutout for managing role.

Like I've said...we're always at square one....But Dipper always wants to make a statement...just not the one we wanted...because all he wants is yes men to rub his ego. he doesnt want the truth.

He is one of many, many problems. HC, DC, OC, GM, Owner, about 2/3 of the roster, scouting dept., etc.

I mean, there's no use crying about the owner, and I know the GM hasn't been perfect, but he could do worse. You can always find something to get on the GM about---always second guess and be critical in hindsight of moves that aren't born in a static situation, but two drafts and off-seasons aren't going to tell you the story on the GM, and in my opinion Dan has made some decent acquisitions (T-Mac, JT, CSW, Mike Jackson,  Coker, Umanmielen and probably Scourton and Ransom as well). Now Canales has been misusing players from the jump. I see no improvement from last season.

Yup. Same story. Tepper has a type and it's slinger of BS that's built to fail. I still can't belive he signed up for this after living through 2023. Freaking hilarious

    • After listening to Morgan's presser twice, I came away with some key beliefs. First of all, I don't think he's a bullshitter. What you see is what you get. When he says something, he means it.  The Teppers really have evolved as owners. Morgan has mentioned how they're easy to work with--a pleasure to work with a few times now. There seems to be a good relationship between all of them (and include Dave Canales on that). We'll see if it lasts. Yes, no one wanted to come to Carolina with the previous management, but that seems to have changed. The team signed arguably the top Edge, LB and OT on the market, two of them on pretty good deals and one on what I'll say is "not a bad one." And, credit Sunshine Dave "Flowers and Cotton Candy" Canales for helping to change the culture. Morgan mentioned getting guys--and I'm paraphrasing--that are not only great football players but great people. Don't look for us to be acquiring any James Pearce types anytime soon, just saying. We'll see if that holds true in the future. Dan Morgan really has set up the Panthers to take the BPA/BAP. He mentioned it at least a couple of times, and he doesn't seem pressured to pinpoint a particular position. He just wants quality players that will help the team. This is how it's going to be (to your joy or dismay, probably for as long as he's here), and personally I love it. Many of us know how Morgan was when he played: aggressive! That's what he's going to be when making acquisitions. He explicitly said it, and emphasized it. All avenues are open (think FA, waivers...the draft)! Personally, as long as it's controlled aggression and not reckless aggression, I love it.  On KP: "Mobility is big in this league."  He basically says if another QB is the BPA while drafting--we're going by our board, people--we're going to add them.        ...
    • Canes are so fascinating. Despite inconsistent defense and poor goalie play they keep winning.
    • I like Morgan's approach but I'll wait for a few winning seasons before giving too much praise.
