mac and bone did a segment on the his last 17 games, it was brutal to listen to.  Said he is trending in the direction where we need to extend him.  Compared his situation to Steve youngs 🤣

Jesus Christ its going to happen

Parroting the Baker, Darnold and Jones talk.  What a stupid argument

At this point we're used to the Panthers making poor decisions so nothing should shock anyone. And at the end of the day the Tepper's are still very much guiding the direction of the operation of this franchise.

I don’t know who other than Bryce Stan’s can stand to listen to them.
They lost me when people would text in an opinion on Young that differed from their fanning, and they would down the texter not argue the point they would just dismiss it as whatever.

Same thing we see here when the argument isn’t really convincing, here come the personal attacks.

I already got to work before the segment started, but they said this came up as a result of what was floating around social media. Direct rip of a huddle topic essentially

Its totally a guilty pleasure for me in the mornings.  The lack of basic sports knowledge they have really has me questioning how the fug they have made it 20 years on the radio.  I guess being blatant over the top homers will get you somewhere.

I miss Mark Packer, that dude spoke his mind and didnt give a fug

I can see it now.  Bryce gets extended on a “discount” which gets celebrated.  Then next season we will have a decent QB fall into our laps and be stuck with our decision.  Like Chuba and Dowdle.

oh that is exactly will be the phrasing and selling point when it happens

At this point, if they want to run it back with bryce at least bring in some fuging competition and cut dalton the second the season is over

I used to fish about every morning and they were always on in the boat.

Now…. I will tell someone to fug themselves if I get pushed to it but am really big on arguing the points and not the other person. I fail every so often and mock someone if they are just ridiculous, did it yesterday over the on and off the bandwagon behavior.
Shouldn’t have.

Will get hot when people start with the accusations of ignorance,  or impugn the other person’s character rather than address their points.
I have no patience for that and don’t respect it. They crossed that line with me. fug them. And it wasn’t me they attacked, I just can’t tolerate it much.
One thing I miss is the interviews or some of them anyway. But you can get them on the website and avoid most of their inanity.

I do appreciate the retelling of some of that like you just did.

Oh they are idiots for sure and hate when people disagree with them but damn I like to hate listen to get an audio version of a bryce stan.  I only listen to the panther segments.  But if they are not playing a bit, I dont understand how a hardcore or casual fan can watch just sundays game and not simple see oh this kid doesnt have a nfl arm.  It was on full display against the jets and they called his performance "solid".   A big part of me simply thinks its all a bit and they want to stay in good graces with the franchise.

Again Packer would call balls and strikes as he would see them and he didnt give a fug about pissing off Richardson

I have to use internet to hear them and missed Packer. Used to see references to him here.
They are likely pandering to the casual fans who are less in the mindset of analysis and more in the rooting for their team mindset. Playing down to the audience. Lot of real dumbasses out there these days.

10 things I think about Bryce...

1. He's improved a lot more than many people here care to admit.

2. I think he's better than just a backup QB.

3. I also don't think he'll ever be a high-end starter or franchise QB.

4. I don't think he's quite reached his ceiling yet.

5. His ceiling likely looks roughly like how he played against Dallas, more or less consistently each week.

6. His size is less of an issue than his arm strength is. A lack of arm strength doesn't allow for his accuracy to translate to downfield throws. This ultimately will be what limits his upside as an NFL QB.

7. He's been far more durable than I expected, recent injury aside. You can't question his toughness at this point considering his size and how often he's been hit over his first couple seasons.

8. I don't think we'll ever really know what Dave Canales is capable of as a playcaller without a QB who can make downfield throws a lot more consistently than Bryce has shown.

9. I wouldn't pick up his 5th year option or extend him.

10. Long-term our best bet is to hope he continues to play more or less well and hope a team in desperate need of a QB (Jets? Raiders? Dolphins?) make us a decent offer for Bryce, hoping they can get the next Baker Mayfield/Sam Darnold redemption story.

Good post. I am pretty much with Dallas being his ceiling.
Consistent 4 quarter performance.
He could produce more numbers in different scenarios but I don’t think he can play much better. If that makes any sense.
He got an away lot of help though.
I struggle to visualize that level of play overcoming a really good defense that shuts down the run game and puts it in his hands.
Was hoping for more evidence on that this year.

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
    • Jackie, any more reps tomorrow, or is that it for this session?  thanks for the work
    • How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
