There was no way he was worth what he got to us. Good luck to him. Hes finally lived up to his potential 8 years in.

I agree with this. 
The money he would have gotten contributed to signing offensive talent. 
However you might feel about that. And yes he would look good in a Mr inside Mr outside thing with Brown, but we needed to develop new people that might be ready when the team is better equipped to take advantage. If that ever happens.

The issue with Burns is that he sucks against the run. The Giants are 31st against the run and he doesn't help. He is a great pass rusher but is a 1 trick pony. I would rather have guys who are 3 down players and can play the run and pass.
