From the presser it appears they didnt know Dalton was injured until after the game.

He should have took himself out the gsme because he didnt do us any favors by staying in there.

You can't just assume Hooker is terrible because this coaching staff didnt turn to him, without injury to Chuba, Rico wouldn't have gotten on the field outside spot duty.

It's a safe bet to assume Hooker is terrible.

He is terrible on the scale of NFL QBs…..but what about the Panther scale.  And on that scale, PJ Walker likely is better than everyone rostered right now lol

The Forever Brycers will never admit that he isn't a starting caliber NFL QB. There will always be an excuse.

Same as all the other oddball player only fans we get here periodically. And then they will slink away in the middle of the night when the truth emerges.

The actual Panther fans that stay will just have tired excuses for a couple of years about how he will "ball out elsewhere", quote Sam Darnold/Baker Mayfield/Geno Smith, and then when that doesn't happen they will get suspiciously quiet on any snide remarks by the rest of the Huddle regarding what a bust he was here.

Hooker is on the PJ Walker end, which is to say not an NFL QB at all. That is accurate.

The opportunity for Hooker to play was in that last ass whipping. That was probably it for the foreseeable future of his career.

I refuse to judge Hooker because the coach who couldn’t figure out the C position coming into the season or the Rico situation in season…..opted not to play him over a guy that shouldn’t of even been rostered coming into this season.   Because that implies we have sound decision makers.  Which we don’t.

That's okay. I am very comfortable judging that Hooker is not a rosterable NFL QB. That's why he is here in Carolina.

That's why 31 other teams said, "Nah, I'm good."

Same decision makers chose him.

So he was hurt on the first series but yet Canales said he didnt want to pull Dalton because he "wanted to give him a chance to bounce back".   The more and more I hear and learn from Canales, even in small increments, just tells me he is so far in over his head its insane.

So Dalton was hurt, he was playing like complete ass and we were getting curb stomped but you would pull him so he could "bounce back" even though he was hurt.  I mean serious what in the holy fug are we doing here?   Would it be too much for a reporter to push him a bit?

I think we have largely ignored a lot of red flags for Canales and excused them as "learning."

Remember when Ron talked about reaching out to his mentors during his early tenure here? I question if Canales really has those resources to even draw upon.

That’s fair, he probably has Pete, maybe. Who is busy right now.

Baker found his way to Carolina and had him playing DE in practice.  Obviously a different staff.  But the biggest issue in Carolina has been the brain trust trio of our owners, GM, coaches.

and there is PLENTY of evidence that his current trio, is mindboggling bad at basics.

I do not believe in Hooker but I won't judge him and use Canales' decision-making as a reason not to believe in him.

I will use his career in Detroit, who is VERY adept at talent evaluations and their willingness to move on from him so quickly as a 3rd round pick as pretty damning evidence. Matt Corral-esque, dare I say.
