Its really strange anyone would think that the scouts and gms and coaches are fooled by baggy shirts and weight gain while the only people who notice are fans watching on tvs and computer screens.

Then if they aren't fooled, why do it? Because some of them undoubtedly could be. And ultimately, the person(s) making the decision was. He fooled Dave Tepper.

Not completely. Bryce heavily participated in the draft process. From packing on extra weight and hiding it under baggy clothes, to repeated practicing for the S2 test that miraculously is hyped beyond all recognition then never heard about again, while Stroud was trashed as an imbecile, and when his physical limitations were being called into question, he chose not to participate in combine drills.

You could say it's not his fault where he was drafted, but I would disagree. I would say he certainly participated in getting himself drafted 1st overall and a larger guaranteed payday.

You seriously think a 5'9" 185 lb kid can fool everyone into think he was 6'1" 215lbs and had Tom Brady's football experience just standing on the sidelines at the combine? Tell me you do not believe that? Everyone in each organization met with him in person. He cannot hide anything.

Bryce measured in at 5'10.25" and 204 lbs at the combine. So the answer is yes. He fooled people.

Maybe you. The Panthers thought knew what they were getting because they bought the hype too.

Then why did he do it?

I think he is saying that Bryce materially misrepresented himself during the draft process so, in fact, he is at least partly to blame for be over drafted.

IOW.  Bryce gamed the system like a con man and should be held accountable for it.

He did. But the team knew it, or should have. I mean how stupid are you?
Players do this poo all the time at the combine.  Or it has been done, and what he did was obvious to all of us.  So it isn’t all on him.
At the same time I don’t like people that try to trick me. I would have looked at it as a big negative.

You would think. The whole thing, not just the combine, totally baffled me.

He had personal visits with at least 3 teams before the draft. He couldn't hide his size up close and personal. This is beyond conspiracy level thinking. They were at his pro day. He couldn't hide his weak arm and under thrown passes. It was all there in front of you. If you were duped you weren't paying attention.

    • I watched a clip of all the offensive snaps. Young threw into some tight coverage and the guys made some plays on the ball. He also really missed some throws.  He has this middle of the field thing into a tight window pretty good and made three or four nice plays but he was just too inconsistent with his accuracy especially in the red zone. Today and in general.    That Int where people were chastising Legette for ‘not fighting through the coverage’, he in no way could have gotten to that ball. IMO. I think he thought it was going to hit the ground and didn’t see the defender coming for it. But not sure what he could have done. The camera doesn’t show the spatial relationship very well, I think the ball was way off. maybe 6 feet or more off target to the inside of the field.  Rico is a beast. And a very good receiver.   That was my impression without dissecting and rewinding, just letting the video roll. I did rewind the int two or three times to look at that one.
    • My biggest issue with keeping Darnold, which I felt we should have done, is we would still have Fitterer. And everything that came with that.  I think Morgan is going to be good.  Baker, just did not play well at all here. Not sure what else we were supposed to take away from it at the time.  That’s my short ‘I don’t want to argue about it’ take.
    • Even if we somehow make the playoffs we will be one and done so fast. Seattle, Rams, TB, Panthers, Detroit and Philly are all better than us.
