Huddle peeps.  This is where we are.  Arguing if our #1 overall pick is better than Andy Dalton.  And folks on here want to give him the 5th

you just quoted one of them.

No. Bryce has a lot of faults, but he at least stays calm in the pocket, can extend a play longer than a second, and is way better at 3rd/4th down conversions than people give him credit for. Dalton would panic and get sacked or throw it nowhere close on 4th down

I don’t want to see Dalton again but I stand by my characterization of him compared to Bryce.
Even in his decrepit advanced state he can make more NFL throws than Young can.

And normally gets the ball out. Or got it out. It’s over for him afaic but it should tell you something that a washed old ginger can make more NFL throws than our boy wonder.
Nothing personal.

Never ceases to amaze me how fans can watch the same player and come away with completely different views of plays... Especially that end zone throw to TMac where if he'd placed it slightly better that's an easy TD.

Short 0-9

intermediate 10-19

long 20+

I didn’t come up with these numbers but it’s what everyone uses so

Man that ball hit him in the damn hands. I have no idea why he tried to catch that ball the way he did. There’s no way in hell Tmac didn’t go back to the huddle and tell Bryce “my bad”. Every Sunday you see WR’s go up and make highlight reel catches. But only here is the bar set so low for what a WR should catch. These guys get paid to make plays too.

you didn’t start with that. Starting talking about ball placement.

Catch the ball.

Looked worse as a throw to me than it was, and I still said he should have caught it.

Now where are you calling out Bryce's shitty fluttering passes he throws every week? Where's "Throw better balls"?

Is it me or do bad things just tend to happen whenever XL is the target? I like the guy, but everytime I see the ball going his way I'm holding my breath.

Namely ints...

Maybe it's just in my head but it kinda feels like the last half a dozen or so we're passes thrown to XL.

I don't think we can blame that int on him. But he does seem to have terrible luck, such as slipping

Literally said that about his INT. Came out wobbly and then the wind took it. That’s as rough as it gets

    • I think we pick it up and then someone else ends up emerging as the QB next year and we end up cutting him in year 5 and eating it.  That would be the most on brand thing to happen.
    • Evero has his faults, but even in that loss, the team only gave up 20 points. Your post gets to the heart of the matter. We are not a talented team on defense at this time. Some of our younger guys may develop w/more playing time, but for now we have no impact players at LB or EDGE. We could really use a ball-hawking S on the back end as well. We have exactly two players that have to be accounted for on every play, D. Brown, and J.Horn. Mike Jackson has been solid. The other starters would probably be backups on most the upper echelon NFL teams. We really can't expect this team to a Top 10 defense with such a lack of talent. All things considered I've been somewhat impressed with how much better they have played this year.   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-points-per-game   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-average-team-passer-rating We are in the top 15 in terms of points allowed per game (22.6) and top 12 in defensive passer rating (88.9). And, we are doing this without a formidable PASS RUSH. Even our rushing defense has improved. We are #16 in rushing yards allowed per game (116) compared to 179 per game last season. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-rushing-yards-per-game I wouldn't cry if Evero moved on after the season, but his defense isn't the biggest worry for our team.
    • The funny part is she looks older and not in a good way...
