Coaching

This loss is a sign of poor coaching. This team was unmotivated and looked lost from the beginning. In what was a pivotal game for our season, they come out unprepared and failed to make adjustments! For as bad as BY is, and he is BAD!, we looked lethargic and not ready.

What adjustments can you make when your players are limited?

Everyone knows Bryce can’t push the ball vertically downfield. The Saints literally set their defense to stop the run and short pass and make Bryce do that and he couldn’t.

WTF is Canales supposed to do other than bench Bryce? Give him a robotic arm? Run HB pass every play? Design a brand new playbook just for this week? I’m at a loss.

Bryce’s limitations are the exact same as Cam’s in 2018 after he hurt his shoulder and couldn’t throw further than 20 yards the rest of the season. That’s what they have to game plan with each week.

Yall really think a guy who had Russell Wilson, Geno Smith, and Baker Mayfield doesn’t know how to call vertical pass plays??

Just now, Mr. Scot said:

Make a thread to talk about problems other than Bryce...

Responses: We need to talk about Bryce! 😄

Because it’s obviously the biggest problem. If you could map the Panthers issues into a Pareto chart, Bryce would be the first bar and it would be as long as the paper.

What is there to discuss on Bryce?

He's not the only issue this team has, and others are worth discussing.

But he is the biggest problem. You solve that, and then you address the next biggest problem, and so on and so on. Right now, he’s 2021/2022 Matt Rhule. When he’s gone, it’ll be Evero, or Morgan, or the WRs or something else.

Playcalling issues aren't on the quarterback, no matter who he is. Ditto with play design

Those are coaching issues.

Play calling being limited or dictated by personnel is really a thing, believe it or not. I imagine that bleeds into design as well.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
