Bump this thread every time a beat reporter doesn’t ask about benching or extending Bryce

Does zero good to ask these questions in week 13. What do you think coach or GM would say?

There is enough to complain about, stop digging for more.

Coaches are pretty consistently asked about bad QB play and other options.

Tepper has a good control over local media….over the last 3 years we got the worst QB in the NFL.   And there hasn’t really been any noise from local media about how bad Bryce is right now and how clearly he is in the way of our success.

I got called out by the guy on the local station,  for telling him to quit glazing Bryce because he played decent against the Falcons.

No doubt.  If it was WFNZ Charlotte you definitely would have been. Mocked for it too in you did it in the morning.

I don't think it's Tepper.  The media has no problem ripping Canales, who was hired by Tepper, or even Tepper himself.  I'm beginning to think Bryce has many local media members on the payroll

They all stumped for him to be the pick and won’t let go. Only rational explanation.

Though Charlotte is a strong market, we have small town media type people.  They either fly the Black and Blue flag or avoid asking challenging questions so they can stay on the good side of Panthers brass and players.

It's similar to all other media.  They have a narrative (left wing or right wing) and every story has to fit into it.  We are still in the "super processor" / nice young man stage.  It's a bit frustrating when we recall that Cam got his share of flack and rarely for poor performance, mostly because he refused to fit in the media's neat little box.  Bryce stays inside the behavior box so they let his atrocious play move to the back burner.

Bad play is absolutely fair game to question. Asking about contracts in week 13 is nonsense.

I have to agree that the question is best left for a few weeks from now.
If you wanted to ambush, the absolute best time would have been in the euphoria immediately following the record setting day.

When you ask it after a typical Bryce day, you are busted right off.

I bet someone would have said something they’d regret after the huge success of 448 yards no picks etc etc

”we’d be fools not to!”
