I'm glad I chose that game at the beginning of the season to go to. I hope that game still has significance by the time it gets here.

One of the last times we played Tampa in Carolina at Christmas time I was home and went to the game.  This was the game Cam had a 50+ yard run to glory.  One of the greatest highlights in Panther history.  Hopefully, we have another great moment or two this time.

1st we MUST win against the Saints.  A loss and everything else is a mute point.

Week 16 is our season.  If we can beat the Bucs in Carolina we stand a chance regardless of week 17.

Factually incorrect, we can lose to the saints and if we run the table the last 3 we win the division

Factually of course but pretty much a done deal especially since some of the tiebreakers don't go our way.

Since 95% of the Panthers road to the playoffs go through Tampa *follow me on this* tie breaker #1 head to head....  stay with me here.....  we lose all the other tie breakers after that so losing to Seatle or NO without sweeping TB = no playoffs  they can afford to lose to one of the two...  because if they swept tampa and tampa wins their other 3 games we win via.... tie breaker #1.

Literally I've run all the scenarios and unless tampa loses to both atl and NO we have to sweep them.

No way that's some loser mentality that has continued in this house for too long! "Fleeting satisfaction"

Win every game you can. Even if we get blown out in playoffs get our young guys even hungrier then. Fug draft positioning when you want to develop a winning culture.

I'll take a playoff berth than getting our ass handed to us from divisional opponents going into 2026

I both did a bad job of explaining what I was trying to say and also being disingenuous. Truthfully I would love the Panthers to make the playoffs no matter how and no matter what ultimately happens in the playoffs. But I was trying to say, I'd like to see the Panthers make the playoffs because they put it all together, play great football and dominate the Bucs in a sweep, rather than get gifted the division because the Bucs completely implode and lose all their games. Cause in that situation, we just look like the beneficiary of a historically bad division and the outlook isn't quite as bright. But the last thing I want is the Panthers to just lose out and get a better draft pick.

Tied now, also either Seattle or LA will be the 5 so we will have an idea if it’s a game we can compete in.

49ers, Seahawks, Rams all have 9 wins. Niners are on a bye this week.

Rams win the division and 49ers are the 5 seed. Rams have it easy from here on. 49ers will beat Seahawks. They are also 4-1 in the division. Seattle will be 6 or 7 probably 6.

Apparently we have a better strength of victory than Tampa. .471 to .432

So technically if we split with them, finished with the same record, same division record (2-0 and 2-1 now) and same conference record (both 5-3 now) it would come down to that and we would win.

This is going to be a weird 4-5 weeks

Who would've thought we would be talking Panthers and playoffs in the same sentence in December? This is a 9 and 4 team if they hadn't pissed away at least 2 games, maybe 3. And have somehow still managed to stay in the playoffs race. All with some of the worst offensive performances of any team in the league.

I think Morgan gets more credit than anyone. Scott was the worst GM by far and Morgan has almost unfuged this team. Canales has been alright, but Morgan has an eye for talent

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
