I'll go other and hope Tepper fires himself into the sun...

Edit: Just saw your top post, I will go DC then. We all know we will move on from Bryce, but even if we had the best offensive talent in the league, DC would still manage to call ass plays and have us averaging like 17 points a game

I lead HC because in theory it can impact so many of the other problems directly.

As someone stated, that point could even easier be made for GM in terms of getting a good HC which will impact everything below that to an even greater extent.

Just getting rid of Bryce doesn't fix DC's poor coaching, poor preparation and poor play calling. It doesn't fix Evero's defensive schematic flaws, etc.

Bryce has to go. His body of work doesn’t come close to being enough, and his ceiling doesn’t cancel out his floor which is below NFL starting QB level.

I don’t need to even consider the other people with him in the conversation. They are all a distant second.

I went coach on the basis of a new HC moving on from Bryce and Evero.

If you just move on from Bryce, you may end up with a bad HC and bad DC.

Which, could also have bad results in any of these changes. I just like the idea of HC because it might net us all three changes.

For me, it boils down to who has issues that are more limitations/restrictive than surmountable/correctable.

And with that said, it is Bryce.

It doesn’t discount he’s been good a few times this year, relative to what we’ve seen. But there’s certain things he can’t change, and it limits what the offense can do. And the impact is just way too much for my liking.

Sure, I’d love to bring in Jesse Minter and find a McDonald/SEA approach, but Canales doesn’t seem entirely unflinching in his ways. He seems open enough to adjustments.

Evero, I don’t dislike him to the extent that I see but get the frustration. A big problem is still our personnel and some of his playcalling, but we’ve seen much worse. (Trgovac).

My philosophy is not who shows me the most at their best, but who shows me the most at the worst. And Bryce’s worst has been indescribably bad with so little flashes; for as nice as it would be to see a redemption arc out of bust status.

Bryce and Evero are close.  I can't see how one can logically pin anything on Canales when he inherited the two weakest links on the team, which are the aforementioned Bryce Young and Ejiro Evero.  I'd argue that with how utterly pathetic Bryce Young and the run defense are, Canales has dramatically overperformed.  It's damn near a mockery of the sport that this team is in the playoff hunt.

I would have to buy that Tepper would throw out a HC and Bryce too, via telling the new hire to get his guy.
I don’t think I buy that enough to roll with Bryce being gone on faith.
There is one chance to get rid of Bryce I will not pass on it.

The owner is the one aspect we just can't gameplan for. I think he shut down all the snitches in the building so I would imagine his direct meddling is less known than before.

I don't for a single minute think he has changed very much, if any.

If he keeps meddling or is still actively involved in day to day football operations, we will always be doomed.

He could luck into a QB and his meddling would have much less impact. The team gets good he doesn’t feel the need to meddle as much.

Only way it can work with him.

We got really unlucky. How many drafts will there ever be where a midget is there for him to fall in love with? And would he do it again after this anyway?
If we’d have been lucky enough to not do this with Bryce in play, the odds of lucking into the right choice between two players with all the attributes jumps to 50% (Bryce was zero).

Morgan has done good things for the most part.

He hired his buddy Canales. In the interview someone posted of Tillis, Tillis let it slip that he was not here when they hired Canales when he talked about team building so that tells me that it was all Morgan and Tepper.

I don’t like the excuse for Dave that he has to deal with Bryce

numerous times this season this team has looked throughly unprepared and unready, the big games we won, we won the turnover battle or some non replicable scenario happened.

yesterday was the final straw for me, just all phases looked unprepared, 4th and short were running the same play because for some reason we’re not doing qb sneaks with Bryce, ok fine, why not have one of our 3 big boy TE have a specific tush push package for scenarios like yesterday ?

I don’t see anything that canales does well, which is ironic, cause it’s the same for Bryce

oh yeah and don’t forget we lined up twice offsides on fg attempts……

    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
