Why does Bryce get the blame?

He's an NFL starting QB. Of course he gets a lot of blame. The NFL has bent over backwards over the past 20+ years to make it as QB friendly a league as possible so their star QB's can succeed. Over the course of Bryce Young's career he has largely been in the bottom 5 QB's in each respective season he has played. Cumulatively, he is arguably the worst QB during that stretch by winning percentage and statistics.

So, yeah, he is going to get a lot of blame. The pieces around him keep getting better but he makes extremely marginal improvements, at best. That's really bad in an unbelievably QB friendly environment.

That's a philosophical take. Whether or not he deserves a huge amount of blame for a certain game (specifically, the last one) isn't really a philosophical question.

But since you posit that as an NFL quarterback he deserves a lot of blame for losses, can I assume that you'll also affirm he deserves a lot of credit for wins?

(that would be consistent logic) 🤔

Is the OP Ms Tepper or Bryce's mom ?  That is the real question.

clearly, Bryce's family is here.   And Zod has purchased one of those Russian bot farms to spam the board with horrific QB play takes defending Bryce Young

Then I will rejoice when Dan and Dave are fired next year.

the biggest problem Carolina has....is the bleed over they allow from one mess to the other.   All the hiring and firing Tepper did, he never gave the org a cleaned house and a group with a legit fresh start.  Always the last era seeping over.

It’s simple. We all saw with our own eyes.

The best QB on the field Sunday was a 2nd round rookie in his 6th NFL start….and that QB is on a worse team.

and Bryce was the #1 overall pick, is now in his 3rd season….and again, in both matchups the Saints QB was the best QB on the field.

We have a QB problem

Yeah.. I have been holding out hope. I watched QB1 and was very impressed with him. He has always been an undersized high school kid that has excelled everywhere he has played... but the NFL is a grown man's sport.

To me its clear.. despite holding out hope, that BY is not the guy.

Why out the “if”? Bryce isn’t gonna become anything then what he has been. A backup level player.

Doubt he'll ever be elite, but as I've mentioned previously it is fair to point out that he's improved over the past two seasons and could further improve next year also.

I'm still not confident in him at this point but none of us can guarantee that won't happen.

There's enough data to make an educated case

Year 3 and similar results and I can guarantee you it's wrap for them

Canales is currently under contract through 2029.

If Bryce has a bad year next year I'd bet dollars to donuts that the following year sees Dan and Dave being allowed to pick the guy they want to replace him.

Zero logic to cleaning house just over Bryce, especially when you consider that neither of them were in charge when he was taken.

qb rating meaning less and less when u can get a great qb rating throwing for minimal yards.   i dont believe byoung lost thr game it was actually probably his 4th best game of his career.  with that said if he had played as well as shough panthers would have won.

AND THIS RIGHT HERE IS THE ENDEMIC PROBLEM.....

17 POINTS ON A TEN LOSS TEAM 163 YARDS PASSING AND 1TD IS ONE OF HIS TOP FIVE GAMES 🤣🤣🤣🤣

You would be absolutely insane to think that.   If 2026 mirrors or is worse they are done.   That is just how it works

    • 1. Nothing. He's under contract. He may have been up for an extension before the injury but now you sit and wait it out.  2. He's an ERFA. Tender him at a high level for little money and then he's a RFA after next season where we have the right to match any offer he fields. Zero pressure to do anything here long-term. 3. I'd probably take literally any trade offer made. If there aren't any you bring him to camp to compete and see what happens. 4. I honestly expect an OT in the first 3 rounds with Moton's age and possible degenerative knee issues combined with Icky's serious injury. We have both immediate and long-term need there. A stopgap bandaid vet feels necessary either way. 5. Sign a legit vet (Chenal). Re-sign Rozeboom at backup contract levels. Then LB is high on the list in the draft. 6. Yes. He looked good down the stretch. I'd always have a late round RB as a potential pick though. It's top of the list for positions where you can find surprising value deep in the draft. Plus I just want to stack talent there so I don't have to pay vets. RB is a draft 'em and let somebody else pay 'em position unless you have a truly elite talent there. Don't pay "good" ones.
    • 1.) Resign BC and Yosh. Find a short term answer in Free Agency. 2.) Give Coker a 2 year contract and see how he responds. Something like 9 mil for 2 years. Big deal follows that. We just dont wanna have to pay TMac and Coker in the same offseason.  3.) From everything I've heard, he's getting another season minimum. If he doesn't show up I could see us getting rid of him during the '27 offseason. We're probably holding out hope that he can spontaneously perform like he did in college again.  4.) If I had to guess.... this is about where the 3rd round of the draft comes in. Cade was cool but we could do better.  5.) Prediction: we'll take a shot at a splash signing in FA like Llyod or Bush but have Dean and Chenal on speed dial incase it falls out. I also think we might end up double dipping in the draft. I wouldn't be too mad at a trade down and grabbing CJ Allen late first and Tuarean York(sleper) in the 4th. If we stay at 19 and Styles is gone I think we're going Offense at 19. Wouldn't be the smartest move imo but I could see us grabbing Lemon, KC Concep, or Saddiq.   6.) Chubba could still carry the bulk of the load but my gut is telling me if Brooks can get back to atleast 75%, he'll end up a better version of Rico. That's still the ? tho. Etienne's work ethic will keep him on the roster but it wouldn't surprise me to us draft one late and bring in a FA option. We've always stacked rb's under Canales.
