With the Panthers being out of the playoff hunt by all appearances, I think they should do the same. Bench the starter and see what we might have in a younger guy that has just been riding the pine so far. You never know what could happen.

So....about that.....

He would also be completely missing elite WR's here. Yes it is possible TMac could eventually be one but Burrow has never(even in college) played with a WR Corps as bad as ours would be. It might take some luster off of his otherwordly performances, TBQH.

Not to mention the draft capital losses and cap room taken would likely cripple our defense to being as bad as it currently is for several years. So, essentially he would be trading a good offensive line for good offensive weapons while still being hamstrung with a bad defense.

I'm down to see elite QB play again but I wouldn't expect a ton of success for the first few seasons, anyway. I would have a lot less issue being patient with that kind of weapon, though. Not sure he would have the same patience with our franchise.

IF he gets moved from Cinci my money would be on the Rams. This is the type of move the Rams have been making in recent years not pearl clutching draft picks but basically treating them like the NBA does.

But man... the haul Burrow would fetch would be insane. He's three years younger than Stafford was at the time of that trade and they don't have a Jared Goff to offer to sweeten the deal this time around. I think Stafford would hang em uonbefore being traded to Cinci.

You are expecting too much from this crew. If anyone is brought un it will be an UDFA. I fully expect both Bryce and Ansy to be here next season. I'm telling you they are all in on Young.

I think they are so all in on Young that he gets an off-season big money extension.

The difference is that Owens always produced on the field. That will get you a long ways, even if you are a nutcase.

Same was true of Jeff George.

Those guys just about always wind up being one or two year rentals... sometimes less

Hell, people took chances on Diontae Johnson.

Yeah, it would be a historic haul, IMO.

I also think that people are just really, really, REALLY reading too much into a frustrated guy in an interview. By all accounts he is an extremely competitive person and early retirement doesn't sound like it is in his future for frustration purposes.

I like Coker a lot but the offseason conditioning stuff has me somewhat worried about his commitment to his craft. I genuinely hope they start focusing more on getting him developed and perhaps invest significantly less time in trying to develop whatever next roadkill/XL themed stadium sandwich.

Yeah I’m terrified he’s gonna pull a Kelvin

If that happens Dan Morgan will end up just another failed GM in a long line of failures across the league the last few decades.

George and Johnson are similarish level NFL players. Terrell Owens was a HOFer. That will get you a lot more leeway than most other players. And I think people don't appreciate what an insanely elite guy TO was. He was almost a 1k WR at 37.

You jest, good sir.

It isn't just that they're not mathematically out.

In order for what you suggested actions to take place, the Panthers would have to believe they're out.

Nothing I've seen indicates that's even in the realm of possibility right now.

I mean.....we aren't mathematically but....we do all know the reality.

We all knew the "reality" that the Rams were going to walk all over us too.

I'm not ready to say we'll make it, but I've seen enough weirdness this season to not bet huge money against anything.

Owens is probably the best player in this scenario, but Lord knows there have been plenty. Antonio Brown is another that comes to mind.

George had fantastic physical traits and ability but Ryan Leaf level attitude.
