Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panthers History

For most teams, when your QB and offense do nothing for first 90% of the game…..he and they are a big part of the problem of why you lost.

There has to be some sort of balance. 19 rushing yards is going to be an uphill battle for any offense much less one centered around a rookie WR. I’m not saying Bryce had a great game but he wasn’t the main cause for concern this game.

The offense as a whole was.   How much you want to cut the QB out of that? The O that  couldn’t convert a single 3rd down during that opening 90% of the game?

No, it’s Bryce’s fault Rico fumbled and our #1 and #2 wideouts dropped crucial third down passes. The entire game is his fault. Ignore the 1.4 yards per rush

Our receivers dropped two first down passes on third down in our first two drives.

19 rushing yards. If it was flipped like against Seattle then yeah QB is front and center. When our 2 1000 yard RBs are averaging in the 1s for yards per carry behind our run blocking heavy expensive OL then I’m looking at the running game. Honestly officiating was some of the worst I’ve seen and I hate blaming that as well.

Our running backs had 20 yards. The whole game.

Bryce had more passing yards and TDs than Baker, as well as a higher QB rating.

Tell me what Bryce had with 6 minutes left on the clock in the 4th quarter then?   How many 3rd downs were converted at that point?

point is simple.  The entire O and Bryce didn’t exist for basically the entire game.   Like most Bryce games it a discussion of ongoing the overwhelming majority of the game to talk about the closing minutes.  It’s the same thing virtually every game.  Played about again today.

Is he THE reason we lost? Nope . But like most games, Bryce isn’t going diddly poo the majority of the game.

Bryce existed. The run game did not. We had over 10x as many passing yards as rushing yards. Stop reading stat lines and actually watch games.

Uhh,  stop the run and make Bryce beat you with his right arm. Odds are, he won’t. Well, once again, that paid off.

You have most probably watched enough football to understand the concept and know how that works. And if you weren’t such a stan you would not be saying what you are saying.
Next move would be to say yes I know, but the receivers suck so much and his line sucks so much and the coaches suck so much…

I am really glad that this has finally been adopted by other teams, because it hammers the point home on an almost weekly basis so maybe some of these cement heads in charge will understand reality.

It’s just a shtick now for some. I’m not really a Bryce fan and honestly his best chance of success is probably a change of scenery at this point but I’m also looking at this team as a whole and seeing plenty of issues. Today QB played well enough. Running game didn’t exist, we missed a FG (granted it was in the 50s), officiating was terrible, and play calling was pretty bad. I kind of want DC to hire an OC to handle play calling.

I’m so tired of the dik and dunk passes because our QB can’t throw it over 20 yards.  I was a San Fran fan before the panthers were born and my wife and I talked about way we don’t go back.  I just can’t stand to watch this dude play.  Yes there were drops but so many times I saw receivers running wide open for him to check down.  I just can’t he has killed Oanthers football for me

There needs to be more speed on the offense. Bryce Young is good enough I guess, if you give him the type of receivers and TEs he needs to be successful. He needs YAC guys. Not possession receivers. He just isn't that type of QB.

The best thing that could have happened for this team in 2015 was Kelvin Benjamin getting injured. Cam was one of the only QBs in the NFL that could get it to Ginn. Kelvin would have slowed down the offense.

Top 10 rush D, bottom 10 pass D.   6 minutes left in the game….we had a grand total of 7 points on the board largely thanks to the D putting the ball on the 19.   We didn’t convert 1 3rd down then

The offense flat out didn’t do their job well enough for the majority of the game.   They didn’t exist.  Thats not even controversial.   A controversial take is wanting to cut the QB out of that

CRA doesn't even watch the games, usually. He just looks at statlines.

    • Didn't  see this posted (since 2023) but since folks have been posting that you can't judge a draft class for three years (a ridiculous take), I thought I'd post this to see what people thought about the 2023 draft. Unfortunately this may not be the most interesting class to do this with but I do quite like retrospective draft grades. Would appreciate other's takes on this (and other recent) draft classes.   1(1) - Bryce Young QB: I am a bigger Bryce Young apologist than most (maybe all). I like the kid. But there is no way around it: This was a terrible pick. If he had been picked in the 4th or even the 3rd round I would feel pretty good about it. But this was the first overall pick that we gave up two firsts, our best offensive player to get.  GRADE: C -    2(39) - Jonathan Mingo WR: not much to say here here. He was here for two years. His yards per catch are on par with Bryce's yards per pass. Rough stuff. To date he has still never scored a touchdown in the NFL GRADE: F   3(80) - DJ Johnson OLB: a pick I hated as soon as it happened and an example of why the premise of this thread is honestly dumb. This was a bad pick when it happened. Most people knew it.  Then came training camp and he did not look good. Then came the preseason which confirmed what we saw in TC. Then came the season which confirmed what we saw in preseason. To date, he has half a sack in his career. GRADE: F 4 (114) Chandlers Zavala G: Honestly the best pick of this draft which really speaks to how awful this draft is. Other than Bryce, the only pick still on the team. He is mostly average or below average depth which in round 4 is not terrible. But he had a pff score of 43.5 and though I think people have unrealistic expectations for draft picks, I still would want a little more from a fourth round pick GRADE: C+   5 (145) - Jammie Robinson S: I liked the pick when it happened but ended up being a disappointment. He logged 1 tackle with the falcons last year and not enough snaps to get a grade on PFF.  GRADE: F OVERALL DRAFT GRADE: F
    • You gonna make me post Stank before every game?  I kid, I kid.
