But yeah, given that particular situation he should've gone to the ground and absolutely prioritized securing the catch. Catch it and keep running maybe it's a big gainer. But simply go to the ground and ensure you secure the catch and we move the chains and stay in the game. I think a savvy vet is smart enough to forego the big play opportunity and simply ensure he moves the chains and keeps us in the game.

With the season on the line, you gotta go to the guy with 11 career receptions.

Everyone knows I'm not big on Bryce but I don't really fault Bryce here. No, it wasn't the greatest throw. But he threw a catchable ball to an open WR. You gotta throw to the guy that's open. Horn was put on the field by the coaching staff, he ran a route and got open, he was thrown a catchable ball and he failed to catch it. It is what it is.

David Tyree had 4 catches for 35 yards in 2007 when he came down with this miracle in the SB...

Those two Giants SB wins over the Patriots are probably my favorite SB wins of all time lol. I got to watch the 2011 win live in NY at my apartment on antenna tv with 10 friends

A vet maybe would have dropped to cradle it but poo throw. In front of him it's probably a td

Greg Olsen, Ochocinco, Shannon Sharp and Steve Smith have all commented on how he should have caught it. I'll take their opnion.

And even if it had been the most perfect pass in the history of the NFL, there is no way that is a TD lol

Obviously head scratching that they went to a rookie who they barely let run any routes all season long to secure that chain mover. Bad throw and bad coaching decision to put it on Jimmy when T-mac and Coke were cooking all day. Not to mention the 3 downs before that being horrible play calls

We will jut have to disagree on that. Horn has made some plays this year so there was no reason not to have him running that route. He ran a good route, got open and had the ball in his hands. He just dropped it. He'll catch it the next time.

I do agree with the terrible play calls prior to that.

I agree, what i'm saying is they mostly limited him to running sweeps during the regular season when he should have been getting more looks on actual routes to prepare him for this kind of situation.

Didn't we have all three timeouts still? At the end of the day you dial up a play to one of your most sure handed receivers for all the marbles. We hinged the season on Jimmy Horn Jr just as we had Etienne back returning punts. I mean even XL managed to not muff a punt ffs.

I don't jive with just putting the onus on Horn though. He shouldn't have been in that situation and a guy who we traded a fortune for should have delivered a better pass. This offense was 27th in PPG for a reason and ball placement is crucial.

The one actual not putrid offensive piece Bryce had to work with in 2023. Thielen also was someone Coker looked up to and so we can probably thank Thielen for his development as well.

I'll really miss JTO complaining about good old 19. "Oh, and we have 19 putting up the mailbox on his career. C'mon, man. Put that arm down. Nobody cares."

Going into that drive with 3 timeouts in our back pocket, I could never imagine the game plan was for Bryce to throw the ball away 3 times in a row to result to this 4th down situation. 3 fuging time outs available and acted like it was hail mary situation

    • Not in same league. Caldwell just hit a 10.00 on the RAS. 2nd out of 3830 from 1987 onward.  https://x.com/MathBomb/status/2027885023387349047 Yeah I mean Louis had a sub 9.00 RAS. Still very very good, no doubt. Louis is small, no 2 ways about it. He is likely a sub package lb in nickel packages or specialized WLB. Be fine ST gunner to start for sure. 6 foot flat and 220lb is pushing it for a starting LB. At 10 to 20lbs less than the other LBs he'd better be closer to the top in most timed drills. He's gonna be challenged when some of the wrs in the class can matchup bigger stronger faster, much less TE in the run game.  Yeah instinct matter and he has them, but that size is a massive red flag compared to many of the other LBS in this class.    Rodriguez is the LB that really climbed this week from a pure grit guy to great flash with athleticism people wrote off cause he was a QB at first at UVA. 18.4mph in the backpedal. Production the last 2 years were great. I'd be thrilled with him as the future mike.   Hill likely moved out of 51 and into the top 45 picks ( Ravens at 45 I can't imagine don't bite if he makes it there). Honestly Hill imo is a 1st rounder and I'd be ok with him as he fits the MLB we have missed the last few years. People would crow it's a reach but he's top 30 all-time I'm RAS for a LB at 9.9+ . Plus he was big time in big games when he was healthy. And that br a big check: meds.
    • Miller, Melo, Coby, Moose, and Bridges all on the floor at the same time must be a nightmare for defenses lol. Switch one out for Kon and still a nightmare. Coby really does bring a true 6th man value and looks like he could start if Melo was out after only a few games of getting his feet wet.
