The first two picks should be DT and OT. According to Daniel Jeremiahs top 50 this class is heavy on wr and O line, namely OT. I'm not sure if that helps us with edge rusher in round 1 as he turns around and has only 2 wrs taken in the top 20 with us taking 1 of them when he has 5 ranked in the top 20. He's all over the place with his mock draft so it's hard to take any rankings seriously at the moment.

Agreed. I think DT is being deprioritized or not thought of in as dire of a need as we should be.

For me, I want a vet pass rusher instead of another rookie. Throw a bag at Phillips or maybe Hendrickson. Mafe is also a guy I'd look into (cheaper than Philips/Hendrickson) and think he's stuck behind some pretty talented guys in Seattle right now.

Same goes for WR - Wan'dale Robinson would be at the top of my list if possible. I would say Pierce or Shaheed, but I think both get re-signed.

No combines or pro days yet. Any inside information DJ is basing his mock draft on is still premature. I’ve noticed a lot of mocks taking us the NT from OSU McDonald and the IOL from Penn State.

^^^

1. I dont know much about Huskey but his size and stats seems good

2. Barber is the anti Icky.  Hes really good at pass pro and really quick and handles speed rushers well but not really strong enough for a dominate run game

3. I love Romellos game but hes not really a big dude and this may make him a one trick pony in the nfl

Anyone know what round the guys we have met with are projecting to be taken?

from the draft sites it looks like romeo is roughly 2nd, Barber 3/4 range and Huskey looks like a late round flyer at best.

Again I dont recall ever watching maryland this season so I cannot speak to his game but Barber and Height would be pretty good fits at the right draft spot but Height is just not a big dude and will probably struggle in the nfl

McDonald would be interesting. Looks like a guy suited for an odd front defense and would equate to a bit more of DB as the 4T but obviously would shift inside in a 4-3 or 4-2-5 look.

I'll be interested to see where the cluster of DTs sort out post-combine/pro-days. I think any of Woods/McDonald/Banks would help our D out immensely. Just depends on your cup of tea....or Evero's I suppose. I'd lean Banks given his size and length...it screams 34 NT, but Woods looks like the most well-rounded.

I think Banks would be a fit, McDonald too, Hunter is a monster as well. I just can’t see this team continuing to invest in these 3 down lineman with a first round pick. Derrick Brown and Wharton have big contracts. Bobby Brown has a decent one even if we let AShawn go. At some point you have to invest in people who can sack and volume tackle. You have to have people who actually make plays.

I’ve heard enough.

He is in interview mode.  I like him, but we don't draft from Clemson--we draft So Carolina in Round 1.  Its a rule.  Seriously, we can grab a great edge in round 2.  I think we should trade back, fill 2 needs in round 2 (I think we can find a good Edge and LB in round 2--That would be huge

I think he is 24 or so.  Not sure what that means, but it is (in my mind) like shaving 2-3 years off the career.  Kinda like when we drafted Chris Weinke.  He was 48 I think

My biggest concern with Romello is that he’s a douche who played for 4 different schools. As a player tho, he gives you exactly what Princely gives you. Don’t see a reason to have both on this team

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
