I’m just not impressed with these hires/openings

I have not seen a good fit yet as a HC hire. Honestly, Saleh is probably the best one and that’s not saying much.

Miami- Hired a DC with an average defense. Check the rest of his resume. It also doesn’t solve your main problem at QB with Tua/Ewers, etc. Clear downgrade from Mike McDaniel. The owner obviously thought he had a shot at Harbaugh and fired McDaniel to throw his hat in, Waller has an interview that gives the impression of this.

Atlanta- Stefanski has won like 6 games in 2 years. Carried a few years ago by his defense. Defense has gotten older and he got exposed. Brought into Atlanta with a DC he didn’t hire. No idea what they are going to do at QB, no 1st round pick, a lot of resigning. Oh and their Dan Morgan/John Lynch/ John Elway guy is Matt Ryan who has not worked in the front office at all. At least Dan was a scout, director, asst GM, etc.

New York-Not bad really but he’s only going to be as good as his OC. Joe Schoen is still the guy getting your talent, and good luck playing Dak Prescott, The Eagles D, and Jayden Daniels 6 times per year with the NY media writing about everything you’ve done wrong.

Tennessee- meh. Probably should have gotten an OC to develop Ward but Saleh can at least make this team aggressive and physical again. I doubt many wanted the job. If Saleh fixes the culture and gets a decent play caller he will be okay. The GM there seems promising.

If I had to rank the rest of the openings I’d say:

1-Pittsburgh:

Enough talent to be competitive. Have some things to fix at key positions but long history of success and winning is in that building. Plus, you get Baltimore and Cleveland twice per year (I’ll get to that).

2-Baltimore: What in the ever living hell makes you think it’s time to walk away from Harbaugh. He didn’t leave like Tomlin, you fired him then the owner joked about it at the press conference. Who did you ever think you were going to get better than him. Somebody to support Lamar? Like drive him to the practices he never attends?

3-Buffalo

I mean you get Josh Allen but they promoted Beane to be their Morgan and if you watched the Press Conference today the owner made Tepper look like Arthur Blank. Basically said he fired McDermott just over losing to the Broncos. Beane got up there and poo on a few players. The two leading candidates are Joe Brady, your current OC and Brian Daboll, your former OC who just got done running a circus on the other side of the state. Like the Ravens, who did you think you would get that was better?

4-Las Vegas

Spytek seems competent as a GM and Brady is in the building but there is a real stink culture built into that organization that somebody is going to eventually have to fix. It seems like everyone that gets close (Gruden, Carroll, Pierce) gets fired. At least you have a shot with a potential Franchise QB in Mendoza.

5-Arizona

Gannon just collapsed. Don’t know what happened, but it seems like Kyler is gone with no real plan in place. Maybe resign Brissett? Maybe take another down year and just rebuild the roster? Who really knows. I don’t see them having any shot landing a big fish, I honestly forget they don’t have a HC half the time.

6-Cleveland

There’s a reason McCarthy and McDaniel turned them down. Still have Watson on the books. Have to deal with the Shaduer fans and haters. Aging defense. Don’t imagine Schwartz will stay on as DC if he is turned down, so there that goes. Honestly, I think Schwartz by the only guy that wants the job.

If the Raiders draft Mendoza then that GM is getting fired within 3 years.

"Bills? Doesn't impress me."

Baltimore and Buffalo may or may not get a better HC but both of those QBs are likely to drag their franchises to the playoffs every year, lol

Brady is the GM, so that isn't going to happen.

I agree. I think the Raiders want more draft capital and are looking to move down. I think Mendoza is doomed to be a Jet or a Brown (with the Cardinals as a sleeper, depending on what they decide to do with Kyler Murray).

Titans are probably pissed that they hired Saleh and then McDermott became available. McDermott might take a year off but I could see him landing any one of the available openings right now.

I don’t see McDermott having to settle for the Titans. Maybe I am wrong about them and it isn’t the ‘settle’ I think it is.
The owner hasn’t shown me much. But they are supposedly building a new stadium and the money will flow to get that filled up, they are going to try and win. So there is that. They have some talent and a high draft slot and the number 1 pick from 2025.

I want to see what they do with Levis. If he just cuts down the wtf bonehead decisions by half, he is a maybe. All the physical tools. Should be cheap.

An organization who was trash for 20 years fires there coach of the last 9 years with a 106-58 record over losing a divisional round playoff game (per the owner) in a down coaching cycle and promotes a GM whom 80% of the fan base can’t stand.

No, sounds horrible.

McDermott will get exactly what he wants or he will just sit out a year.

If he had been on the market at the start of this he may have been the highest rated candidate out there. 12 years younger than Harbaugh. Turned Buffalo around very quickly.

I think he is a great fit for Pittsburgh. People say he is too old but I think they don’t realize he is 51 not pushing 60. He has been in the game a long time, got an early start though. He could give them well over ten years of service. Easily.

The firing may light a fire under his ass too. He’ll likely self scout and find stuff to improve and will be motivated.

I haven't heard anything about them wanting to move down.

Where is this being reported?

I saw something, it all runs together after a few videos, but all kind of crazy poo Mark Davis was telling Mendoza he would do for him and his mom and his brother, and his coach.

The mom apparently has major medical issues or a disability and he was going to build a box or suite or something for her. In the stadium. 5 years 80 million was mentioned and I believe that would be a coaching contract?
I didn’t pay a lot of attention, was reading something while the video played, but it was some pretty over the top stuff if it was near accurate.

Point is, that doesn’t sound like they are thinking about trading his rights.

I don't see any chance they trade that pick. Mendoza is the only decent option in this draft and they do still have Geno under contract if they opt to take it slow on his development.

They actually are in an ideal shitty team scenario for that reason alone. Now, having that nitwit Tom Brady as your GM is a whole different can of worms but on paper this could work well.
